Did anyone receive the Bonus 90K points for spending the $5000 on Govt payments. I just paid a bunch including Vic Roads and ATO. The fine print is a bit ambiguous so wondering if those payments will attract the opening bonus?

As far as I am aware this is one of the last cards to award full points on gov'n spend.

Thankyou for the clarification. I did notice that on the internet banking they categorize what you are spending on, and Vic Roads, Yarra Valley Water, Council Rates and ATO all come up under Govt payments.

Applied yesterday via the promo link, approval today in under 24 hours - let's do this

I applied on the weekend and was approved yesterday. Not without a lot of stuffing around clarifying application details though.

Applied today, had been resisting as just received the virgin money card for the signup bonus. Income and documentation is solid though, so I hope there isn't an issue.

The only thing is the fine print says "applied and approved by 18 April". Is a conditional approval an approval? Let's see. I can always cancel if they don't honor it.

My bonus points have been credited with the issue of the second statement. Happy days and time to close the account!

Nice. I hope once I reach the minimum spend I don't have a long wait for the bonus points.

That was the easiest account closing I have ever done too. Called up and a small credit on the account will be paid out in cash at the branch just up the road from my office. That beats a bank cheque in the post.

Nice. Well I met my minimum spend last week, statement isn't due for another 2 weeks so fingers crossed - then it's a close for me also (I'd actually hold onto this card if I had big government expense though, it's great for that IMHO).

Just to add a data point for those considering tag-teaming the St George and Bank of Melbourne signature cards, I had a St George Signature card about 9 months ago, got the 90k points and then cancelled. Four months ago I moved my home loan to BoM and got the BoM Signature card thrown into the package. I passed the spend 3 months ago and have just received 90k points. Funny thing is, when my new BoM accounts were being set up and I received my client access number, it was the very same client access number I had with St George and had cancelled. Obviously the back end systems are one and the same. Didn't stop the extra 90k points coming through though :D

90,000 points for $139 was a bargain IMO (in todays environment anyhow).

Wasn’t in right position to apply for this card this time which is a shame. Hopefully a future credit card offer with a good fee to bonus points comes up (already used the ANZ no fee first year one).

Offers are a bit thin at present (or at least they are thin for the ones available to me). Bankwest must be about due for their next promotion.

Signed up and approved for this card during the $139.00 annual fee promo. Good value for 90K points, and the card arrived promptly. Apologies if this has been mentioned before, but are the 2 x QP passes limited to me or can anyone use them? Miss Aus ATC and BF have a long transit in HKG in a couple of months time, and I'm hoping I can give them to her to use.
