Strategy to obtain US Amex

My second Chase Card (WOH) took just on 30 days to be approved. I got the same message as you. Called multiple times over days and weeks and needed to be verified multiple times and passed back and forth to various departments and was finally approved. I ended up faxing my ITIN letter as requested by Chase from the snail mail that was sent to my MyUS address. This took about 2 weeks to arrive in the suite and then another few days to get it sent to AUS. I proactively asked whether there was additional information I could provide to speed up the decision I was always told they had what they needed and to simply wait. It might be just a case of getting a competent rep who asks for the required information, and you get approved immediately. Hope it's a little quicker than my experience.
Oh dear... Maybe it's because I applied last Thursday which was a holiday (July 4th) and whoever has to review it took a long weekend off. Now they have a pile of applications to review...

PS - As per this link - How to Check Your Chase Credit Card Application Status - I've called 1-888-270-2127 (I first tried the online option but it showed no applications at all).

An automated message said they've posted a letter asking for more documents. This is for a business card I have applied for as sole proprietor. What kind of documents can they ask for other than Passport/Proof of address/ITIN??

I’ve been using my Citi US card in AU for years and it’s worked well with both ApplePay and the physical card.

I did try to buy $2500 worth of Apple gift cards at the supermarket to buy a computer and that transaction was blocked. I managed to unblock the card easily. I bought the Apple Card’s with my Amex so didn’t get to test how it backed up after the block was cleared. It’s worked well for purchases since (though I don’t usually spend $2500 in one go with it).

YMMV.
Thanks for taking time to share your experience. Finger crossed I don’t have much trouble using my shiny Citi here.

I’ll call them tonight and check. Seems the relevant department was closed when I called. Will revert. Weird they approved my application a second time but then got closed when I’m trying to sign up for an online account to manage the card. Worst case might apply again when I go to the US in person sometime I’d guess
Let us updated for DP please

Update: they think the account is not legit. Something about address has been altered. Need to verify myself in the branch in person… no other way. So I’ll park Chase cards until I’m in the US sometime next year. Think the journey has come to an end for a while. Only Amex cards are easy for me at the moment…but really want a visa/MC alternative product. Sounds like will have to wait for Chase in person and Venture X when longer credit history is built up.

Unless anyone has any ideas how to get around this Chase issue but seems like a dead end for now…

I used Aus address with ITIN and have still been successful using it for additional verification for Amex Business cards and Chase cards so far.
Did you use your Aus address for both the Applicant's Mailing address and your Foreign address, or just the latter and use a US address for the former? I've used my Aus address for both and not sure if this will be an issue for address or ID verification purposes.

I don't think being a private client changes much. I think it's 2/30 for Chase cards but I'm not sure if they apply different between Business and Personal. Give it a go and let us know :)
Hi,
update: Applied 04/07, had to called the Chase recon line (they asked why I wanted a this card, how much I plan to spend each month) Then 5 minutes came back with an approval 5K
(120 bonus Ink Preferred ) They expedited the card via UPS. I'm currently at 4/24.

Glad to hear it went smooth like butter!

What number did you call?

I used only my AUS mailing address and have had no issues using it for ID verification for Amex and Chase. I went through EIN Express as ITIN provider.

Anyone here has Wyndham CC please? Could you please advise how I can apply for it? Is it ok with ITIN? I am keen on EArner cards.
I've done some research on this card recently for the Caesars Diamond status match to see if its possible to get on the casino loyalty > free cruise train, but looks like Barclays only accepts SSN, no ITIN.

Assuming one had SSN, what is the attraction of this card?

IThe business card gives Wyndham Diamond status. This can be status matched with Caesars Diamond. And from there you can get status matches with casino cruise line loyalty programs and other casino loyalty programs that come with tons of perks, including free (or deeply discounted) cruises.
