Suites savers now available

I think it's best to do the initial booking on the website because you get a 15% discount on points required - then call them to arrange the stopover.

No I have never booed it and then called - I have checked availability of exactly which flts I want then call them - explain what you want and point out cannot be booked online so you still want the 15% discount - twice I have done it and twice succesful - both times I must add with my contact Crystal in KF call centre.

Will they allow a stopover on a one way booking or only for a return

YES I have gotten stopovers on OW - I never book ret redemptions - but I have not done so for some time - no idea if it has changed - call them and ask - KF call ctr great to deal with.

Update: I just called KF in SIN - YES can get stopover on OW award - add USD100 - BUT - rep I spoke to said they really don't want to honour the 15% disc as its not an online booking - this I am sure will vary rep to rep - how nice you are to them etc - I know I have gotten it twice before so prolly need to suck and see - hope that helps.

Just playing around with the iPhone SQ app and looking for Suites savers I noticed that some connection options (longer layovers, including >24 hours) show up that don't appear when searching via the web. So that's another possible way of organising a (relatively short) stopover.

Hmm, thats interesting, wonder if its the same on Android App. I really like a stopover of around 24 hours to break up the flight and also maximise the flight experience (also to sleep in a real bed - good as flat beds are).

Just looking briefly for MEL/SYD to NRT/HND, I was getting layovers of up to 42 hours. Pretty much perfect for me.

I didn't pay careful attention, but the cash payment was more for some of those options, not sure if it was exactly $100 more though.

And another small bonus is you can get 2 x Changi Airport $40 promos for 2 legs - booking round trip will only get you 1 x $40 promo - currently have 12 x $20 vouchers in my ticket wallet - Cruiserette was aghast that we didn't 'convert' them all when coming home thru SIN in July - I think that's a gender 'propensity' - just sayin'.

Is that promo still going? Damn, thought it had ended... missed out on a $40 voucher last month then :-( Any idea when it is running till, as I'm transiting SIN in October (yes, in Suites on the inbound - "just" F on the outbound as it's a 773 :))

I called up asking about a stopover (in addition to some other changes) for a flight I had already booked and the answer was no. If I wanted the stopover, I had to book separate award flights. It obviously depends on the person you speak with.

The Changi Dollars promo which commenced Oct 2012 is running til end Mar 2014 - ALL promo vouchers issued for entirety of promo have common expiration date of Mar 31, 2014. I personally have 12 x $20 Changi vouchers at moment in travel wallet - clarified promo details in SIN last Mon evening.

I have never sought 'stopover' as a change to existing booking - so can't add anything here. YES it does depend on CSO you speak to - but IMHO that is no different in any walk of life?

Do you have a link for this. The sites I have found this on say it ends 31st Dec 2013.

We are transiting in Jan so it would be good for some cheap drink.

No sorry no link - I stood at the Changi $ counter in SIN on Mon Sep 16 at 5pm and clarified with the 2 girls behind the desk - went through promo step by step - Intro date of promo? Finish date of promo? Expiration date of ALL vouchers issued etc - I can only pass on info given to me.

Anybody else passing through SIN soon please go to Changi $ counter and put same questions to reps and report back pls.

Found a bit more information on the Silkair site

Confirms the offer is valid until 31st March 2014.

Funny that the SIA site is still quoting 31st Dec, 2013.

We will be coming from MNL so it looks like only S$20 each for us

Last time I looked a bottle of Hendricks Gin was about S$60, so we're two thirds there.

Changi Transit Programme (effective for flights departing 1

Thanks, Deka2

SWMBO departs next week, perfect timing for some thrills.

I have told the lady I have a bunch of KF miles expiring soon that I need to use otherwise they'll go to waste... wonder if she bought it. :D

I tried the same line last night with my +1. It worked! So for my next trip I'm about to book suite savers HKG - SIN - SYD.

So my choices are:

HKG - SIN : New First Class (777-300ER) or Suites (A380)?

and

SIN - SYD : the flight that leaves after midnight will give me 5 hours in Changi. Plenty of time for TPR but does that flight still get a full meal service (including caviar)? My last time on that flight in J there was an express meal service. Not bad mind you, but I want to max out the experience this time.
