Suites savers now available

Just playing around with the iPhone SQ app and looking for Suites savers I noticed that some connection options (longer layovers, including >24 hours) show up that don't appear when searching via the web. So that's another possible way of organising a (relatively short) stopover.

Just tried this with my Android phone and it opened up some possibilities that the SQ site didnt show.

I tried the same line last night with my +1. It worked! So for my next trip I'm about to book suite savers HKG - SIN - SYD.

So my choices are:

HKG - SIN : New First Class (777-300ER) or Suites (A380)?

and

SIN - SYD : the flight that leaves after midnight will give me 5 hours in Changi. Plenty of time for TPR but does that flight still get a full meal service (including caviar)? My last time on that flight in J there was an express meal service. Not bad mind you, but I want to max out the experience this time.

Right now I am in the middle of this journey now on Suites all the way. Definitely go for SQ861 from HKG to get max experience. It is better than I thought.

I am now typing this from The Private Room waiting for SQ231 departing past midnight, watching Dockers thrashing Swans.

Apart from the footy result, that sounds like a great day out!

Thanks to all on this topic. I have just booked Mrs N on her first SQ suites trip. If you earn points you gotta burn 'em too :)

I hope Mrs N loves it.
My niece and sister in law are going to London this week and my niece is sworn to secrecy at school.

I've been reading through this thread and some reviews virtually drooling over the idea of flying Suites, but I'm not sure where to start in terms of earning the miles to do so. Maybe it's not for this thread but how do you guys earn them generally? And if it's not for here can you direct me to somewhere where I can find more information? Thanks!

Cove is the undisputed and ATO master and Cruiser Elite knows more about which hand to hold the Krug in than anyone , but you already know that from reading the thread !!

Good luck, and long live Suites Savers:)

This month I tested Emirates Suites to Auckland and in my opinion SQ Suites is better. You may however be totally impressed by the Emirates shower / change room / toilet which is very Hollywood. It costs 90,000 QF points to do the test for yourself to make an informed decision.

A great use of points, to help towards an informed decision, as you say, Cove.
How could anyone not be impressed with the EK shower facility? Once you stop laughing, that is. It's so OTT - at 40,000 feet. Doesn't do to analyse the total indulgence too closely - but worth it for the fun.
Apart from that, I THINK I prefer the SQ Suites, too. (But its a big "apart from" :).)
And, just to be fair, I'm giving EK another chance to show off its charms on the longer route, inbound to Oz.
After that (back on topic), it would probably be necessary to test drive SQ again! :)

On my Emirates flight there were two shower attendants on board going from Sydney to Auckland but I passed on testing the "Hollywood style" shower so yes it is a tad OTT.
Tomorrow I will have news from the two in Suites tonight. My niece is under age for the champagnes.
Testing and commenting is very helpful.
Recently I have tried the BA747 in First and the seat adjustment is the best and simple to operate as it is one dial. I was very comfortable in 2A and that was a good use of some QF points on a 12.5 hour flight.

Have to say though after my maiden Suites tour from HKG to SIN to SYD. I was very impressed with the Suites. I am not normally a wine drinker but I had 4 glasses of Dom and 4 glass of Krug in this trip. The Chinese food served at HKG-SIN leg is simply amazing where it rivals high quality Chinese restaurants. Also I made the right choice of having BTC Lobster for breakfast on SIN-SYD leg.

Having said that I am Ok going back to SQ J to save some points, especially when I travel with my better half and my baby son. I also tried CX J SYD-HKG and it was fantastic. If I don't have much time I would prefer CX/VS or even QF J to save time. Admittedly I haven't tried QF J yet so that is my next target.

I remember flying alone in regional F on HKGSIN and they ran out of Krug, forcing me to switch to Dom. Something about loading a more restricted quantity of bubbles on regional flights (makes sense I guess). The crew topped up my glass with immaculate precision however, a fresh glass was always ready as soon as I'd finished so who was I to say no. :)

I have also had the Dom & Krug on SQ and after reading your comments, it made me think that SQ must be one of the largest buyers of Dom & Krug in the world.

Let's just say those chunky hoses you see them attaching to the wings at the gate aren't all for fuel................

If you are talking about QF on the 333 J from Asia to Aus I would suggest avoiding if possible. Far inferior to the SQ J 388 product and, from what I hear, the 333 CX product too.

Well, Pam Ann Airlines is known to wash its planes with Chanel number 5 and de-ice their engines with Dom Perignon - which must push the cost of Dom (and probably Krug) down with good supply chain optimisation.

How do you all search for Suites availability? There seems to be no flexible dates option on the KF website? Do you just keep trying dates until you find something?

Yes start looking out of Singapore after checking connection flights is what I have been doing seeing I am departing from Perth.
Out of Sydney and Melbourne you may be able to go Suites all the way. Start by looking for one seat and once you have some hits in your date range check for two if you need two.
