Am planning the honeymoon for SWMBO and I for September next year and would love to surprise her with a trip in Suites.

At the moment, I am planning a week in the Maldives with a couple of nights at the Marina Bay Sands in SIN on the way back to Sydney.

I will (just) have enough points for 2 x Suites o/w and was thinking of doing SIN-SYD as a nice end to the trip with the added advantage of being able to use TPR.

I have noticed, however, that the A380 from SIN-SYD is the overnight flight. This will be our first Suites experience so I want to make sure we enjoy it. Should I think about doing SYD-SIN instead?

Context: I was planning on using either AA or QF points to book BA16 in F up to SIN (and therefore also enjoying QF Flounge). From browsing the calendar, it looks easier to get in that direction than the return.

YES bismarck - to really enjoy Suites experience you need a daytime flt - or just don't sleep on a night flt - but then you won't get full F meal service.

SYD-SIN will give you full Suites exp but won't get you TPR entry unless you have onforward R/F sector of J rdpt at F rates (Male is 330 service) - and you also have your QF F Lounge / SQ F Lounge dilemna ex SYD - decisions decisions my friend.

SQ had non-stop services to LAX and EWR on an A340-500, but they only offered Business and Economy. Both non-stops have been terminated.

Wasn't it Premium Economy?... which they then refitted to an all Business config

(although you could be forgiven because PE is still economy)

When you are travelling in Suites it is daytime somewhere. Going LAX to Narita was a battle as I was the only one on the Krug.
Then from Narita to Singapore I was the only one drinking the French red. This time I had the vodka served icy with the caviar (twice) because I could. Landing at 2.30 am gives you time to relax in the SQ lounges.

You know Cove, its a tough gig what they put you through all that.

I have tried all your options except the vodka, which I will pass on.

With a light passenger load in Suites, I definately wipe them out on the Caviar :0

Keep up the research for all AFFers

My research assistants are my 3 work partners,my two sons, my sister in law and niece plus my wife.
Have tried to get my older brother on board without success but it has not happened as he varied his flights.
Will try a London research run if everything works out and then LAX and back in November.
By the way the vodka was at freezer temperature.

I should enlist as a "relative"

More than happy to enlist and participate.

Let me know when we are going ;)

Apart from a Hawaii trip for a couple for weeks in late Sept I am not on suites till SYD/SIN/CDG on 2/1/15 for the annual ski trip.

Will definately have Krug withdrawals big time by then

Was "Executive Economy." I don't think there was much of a differentiation other than slightly larger seats with a bit more legroom (37" pitch?) though. Kind of like UA Economy Plus.

How common is 2 x Saver out of SYD?

I just came across some SYD-SIN-HKG in suites and was tempted to book but the dates won't quite line up for me.

For Sin-Hkg in F - no PJs, amenity kits, caviar service?

anything else id be missing out on?

kkl - FYI llllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll
Sleeper suits and toiletry kits are presented to Suite and First Class passengers depending on the departure time and block time. Amenities are handed out for day flights (departing between 0600-1800 hours) with a block time of 7 hours or more, including flights from Singapore to Tokyo. Amenities are also handed out for night flights (departing between 1800-0600 hours) with a block time of 3.5 hours or more, where the arrival time is past 0030 hours.
