Re: >140 killed in terror attacks in Paris

I just switched my computer on to see the news.

Very sad news.

Risks with climate conference shortly in Paris where world leaders inc. Turnbull are to be attending.

Latest reports are that the Bataclan hostages situation has been resolved, but not before the terrorists threw explosive in amongst the hostages. What an evil act.

Seems to be a lot of inconsistent reports on how people died and how many died / were injured, or even how many hostages altogether there were. Even the Francophone media is a bit confused.

All that is clear is that there were three terrorists at Bataclan. The patrons there were at a concert and they were all reportedly being shot one by one. The most common reports are that about 100 people are dead from this incident alone.

You'd expect confusion. Multiple locations in attack. These attacks are in Paris but imagine if more attacks follow there and elsewhere...

President Hollande pulling out of G20 meeting in Turkey.

Sensible thing to do when your country is under attack and in a state of emergency

this is what the human race has created on planet earth... hate/death/destruction has been part of the human condition since day 'dot'!! And as we pass through the generations they/we all do our best to 'fix' it!! conflict/hate/war IS A MONEY MAKING BUSINESS...yes, we all get outraged...but NOTHING WILL REALLY CHANGE...Humans will continue to kill planet earth.. so I just choose to live my life as best I can without hurting others....I know it sounds very simplistic..I sleep better at night :) ....."we all just flow from one self induced crises to another"... That sums up the human race:shock:

It can seem pretty brutal out there. But more people die every day from starvation than from terrorism. And by and large the world is relatively peaceful with most people going about their business within the constraints of their community/society. We won't be cancelling our Paris visit next year.

Agree.

Big but though.
All of us here will not be in a position of starvation.
All of us here are in a position of death due to terrorism.

We were in Paris this August. I did a TR here at the time. And posted that I felt that the city was on a high terror alert. There was a lot of tension in the air. Police and Soldier presence and action.

We were there on the day Charlie Hebo happened. That didn't stop us from returning in a few months.

Irrational hatred from a few has now become a fashionable magnet for all 'revolutionaries' whose common wish is to bring back the Stone Age.
