We're taking the kids to Paris (again) over xmas, we're also going to Rome and Nth'n Italy (another publicly stated target) ... only reason we won't go is something official from Gov stating don't travel. We leave in around 4 weeks.

There was a lunatic in BKK a couple of months ago. No doubt a different organisation or ideology, but madness nevertheless.

We took the kids to England/ Europe about 4 weeks after 9/11. Can't deny I was a little edgy flying into London, but in the end the only unusual thing that happened (apart from pretty intense searches before boarding planes), was that there were zero people queued at the Tower of London - like a ghost town and we could spend as long as we liked looking at the crown jewels. Hope your holiday goes well.

What I don't get about that is if they thought there was a bomb, why did they divert to a large city like SLC? They could have gone somewhere smaller like RNO or BOI, where if something had happened, there would be less damage.
