I would be well and truly on the board if not for such rule:p

If the "three finds" rule didn't exist, I'd have a few more runs on the board ;)

Oh well. Like everything in life, you play by the rules and enjoy it. I'll be chomping at the bit for the opening up of the "additional photo rounds" so that I can post something again (assuming my "finds" aren't already found by then.).

Find! (item 29)

For my third find, I’d like to claim #29. Sign showing the Skyteam logo.

<<photo>>
I saw this opposite The Ritz in London. Taken on Saturday 19th June 2010.

That checks out with me. Good work samh004!

Now you're a cap breaker, so no more finds for you until the find cap is raised. Which will be after this week.

The find cap is raised by 1 every fortnight, so you'll have an opportunity to slowly add more finds if you have them. I was thinking of raising the cap weekly, but then I thought that would make it too easy.

Either that or I'd advise you to cajole more people to submit finds. After all, more points are added for new members rather than those who have already found items. :)

Find! (items 6 and 31)

6 Airstairs parked in position against an aircraft
Air stairs BWI

AFF hunt 2 air stairs @anat0l on Twitpic

That one is fine...

31 Metal knife on board (part of cutlery set supplied by airline)
Metal knife AA1277 BWI-DFW

AFF hunt 2 @anat0l metal knife on Twitpic

...as is this one (damn Australian government, again), but...

5. A gate FID showing the flight at that gate departing between 0001h and 0030h local time, ah you wanted the gate. :(

For AFF hunt 2 sign of FID on Twitpic

...this isn't, as for reasons you stated. It does have to be a FID at a gate.

Well done Bundy Bear.

Week 2 has started!

Post #3 has been updated with finds and other info.

This is the second week of the game and rounding out the first fortnight. The find cap per member is increased every fortnight, but points are also deducted as a 'time penalty' if there are still items to be found.

17 of the 50 items were found in week 1 - wow....

Got my candidates here:

VS200 Hong Kong - Sydney on Upper Class on 15 June 2010.

It is a Fifth Freedom Flight (UK Airline flying between Hong Kong/China and Australia)

25: Airbus A340 (any series is fine, again a real one, not a model): VS200 is operated on A340-600. Taken at Hong Kong International Airport
30: A fifth freedom flight
6: Airstairs parked in position against an aircraft [44]

44. An ottoman/buddy seat in an aircraft

31. Metal knife on board (part of cutlery set supplied by airline)

47. Airline menu showing a dish that contains new potatoes: It is in the Breakfast section, potato rosti

I'll pay the find for the A340 but I won't pay it for the fifth freedom flight, because you can't tell from the picture that it might be VS201 to LHR. Besides, I would have forced you to choose one item to put the photo against, because each photo can only stand for one item.

Item 6 is already found (and I can't see it in the picture anyway).

44. An ottoman/buddy seat in an aircraft
<<photo>>

This is OK. Found!

31. Metal knife on board (part of cutlery set supplied by airline)
<<photo>>

Sorry, this item has already been found.

47. Airline menu showing a dish that contains new potatoes: It is in the Breakfast section, potato rosti
<<photo>>

Sorry, the menu only mentions "potato"; it doesn't say that they are new potatoes. (Yes, there is such a thing called 'new potatoes'.)

Still, that's two finds for you edison - well done!

Actually VS201 arrives at HK on 9:50pm and leave for LHR at 11:25pm. This is night time at HK. So surely that this plane taken at day time is for VS200?!

As for needing another photo for 5th freedom, and to actually "prove" it is VS200, please see the following two photos, one showing the flight map from HKG-SYD on their VS IFE!

I never knew that there are such thing called "New Potatoes". They should call a different name!

I'll take the new photo as proof of a fifth freedom flight.

So well done edison, that's three finds which means you're the third cap breaker for this fortnight.

Woo hoo! :D

Aircraft registration that contains numbers, and the sum of the single digits is greater than 13.

N817MD is an ERJ-170 which I saw at DCA on the 15 June 2010, it was just a random shot which somehow met one of the requirements.

Sorry to keep you both waiting - you're both alright with these photos!

meloz of course has the BA F amenity kit (design by Anya Hindmarch; although I'm not a handbag person I have to admit that is one of the nicer designed amenity kits). Bundy Bear forwarded me a better sized image to his attachment so I've verified that the registration is indeed what he has given. And 8 + 1 + 7 > 13, so all good.

Well done both of you, and Bundy Bear is another cap breaker for this fortnight.

Suggestion for the next Scavenger Hunt - Photo of Kenvin07 in the F Lounge - he won't be flying on the BBJ anymore :)

# 3 - A piece of Rimowa luggage

As I was waiting for the hotel pick-up at TPE a German guy with two new pieces of Rimowa luggage rolled up next to me - I snapped those, then this old aluminium one rolled up the other side! :D

DSC02316-2.jpg

# 19 - Slice of Black Forest Cake & 23 - Maraschino cherry

...and following on from Find #3, if I may be so bold as to claim #19 & #23.

Evidence of a slice of Black Forest Cake (taken at the TaoYuan Chinatrust Hotel this evening), topped off with...... Maraschino cherries! :D

and now the Forum's back on line I can upload the photo!

DSC02318-2.jpg

and according to the rules, that's me done for the week.

Well I've finally managed to get photos off my camera, and most of the shots I got I'm too late for!

But I've got the chamomile tea in the minibar shot, at LM in KL.

Does the non english immigration need to ONLY be non english? or can it be english and another language?

Fantic125 and k_sheep - when did you take your photos (in the above 3 posts)? EXIF data for the photos you've submitted doesn't exist, so just need to check that you snapped each of these on a date after 14/06/2010.

If the date is OK, this find would be alright.

Once again, need to check the date, however there is a rule that says that a photo can only stand for exactly one find. Once the date is verified, you'll need to choose which item you want this photo to credit against (i.e. #19 or #23).

Once again - check date and it'll be all good.

As long as it says "Immigration" or "Passport Control" in another language that is fine.
