Would 2 boarding passes showing BKK-AMM-DBX or return (in one continuous trip) meet the requirement (since I have this in my sticky little fingers) #graspingatstraws

Well actually, what continent is AMM (or Jordan) in? I think you might have something which matches the item requirements.... ;)

I'll post it if it's allowed

Aaaah... you're no fun, simonpenny408 :p I was trying to give you a big hint to try and convince yourself that the find should be OK...in fact, it was something I never considered before (i.e. there are short distance hops that actually traverse continents).

TBH the wording of the find is a little bit sketchy now; strictly speaking the airports DXB, AUH and DOH all lie in Asia, and to say "another continent" seems to imply the other airport must be in a continent apart from Asia (and Europe and Australasia as implied by the rest of the item description). However, my intention was not to exclude flights like DXB-BKK, just those like AUH-SYD and DXB-LHR, but if someone had JFK-DXB or DOH-CAI then that'd be acceptable.

In light of this, if you have a flight like AMM-DXB, since AMM is in Asia which is not Europe or Australasia I'll accept it. Of course, the BP must be for a flight which was not taken before the start of this hunt.

Find! (#46)

Well, sometimes you just gotta try your luck (and have a reason / explanation for it).

In any case, good work simonpenny408 - that's a find! The basic reason again, of course, is your flight AMM-DXB. AMM is in Jordan, which is part of the continent of Asia. So since that's not Europe or Australasia, despite the ropy wording of the item I'm letting it be.

Now we're down to 8 items remaining and no purging this week.

Week #11 has started!

Post #3 should be updated in time.

A couple of things I realised when I composed this update:
  • The dish is correctly spelt as "Lobster Thermidor" - there isn't an 'e' on the end.
  • My math slipped up - as of the last find, there are 6 items left to be found, not 7.

The end is getting closer..... (or at least will painfully end itself within just over a month...)

Re: The List, The Score, The Fame

Aircraft of an airline which is based in one of the former USSR republics except Russia .
l'll be in Budapest, Berlin and Gothenburg next month. Do l have a chance of seeing a ex-USSR aircraft at either of these airports? Anyone?

Maybe, but you might like to double check the list, because the airline is important not the aircraft type. ;)

Week #11: Nothing has been found this week yet!

No items have been found yet!

Remember that you all have until the end of next Monday (2 May) to find an item, otherwise another random item will be purged from the list and another heavy deduction to go with it!

Week #12 has started!

No items were found last week. As a result, a random item was purged from the list.

I used random.org to generate a random number in the range 1-6. The result was a 1, so I selected the first remaining item (when sorted in ascending order of item number) and this was moved to Purgatory. This item was:
  • 1. Boarding pass for a Star Alliance operated flight with flight number 1.

15 points was deducted as a purging penalty from the score, in addition to the normal 6 points of weekly attrition.

There are now 5 items left to be found.

Post #3 will be updated soon.

I ownder what the list of possibilitites for this item was?

If I'd been brave enough to walk up to some random in the Koru Lounge at LAX I could have got NZ1... but I thought walking up and asking to photograph a stranger's boarding pass was a tad creepy!

I was on NZ5, which had the new PE and was a better choice!

OT: Did you like the new PE on the 773? Reports have been scathing for long haul. In January I was saved by being summoned to the service desk where they substituted my PE BP for a Business premium one.
