Find! (#35)

Got this one outside the Augustiner brau where I have sampled the finish dark, strong beer.

Aaah! Das ist sehr gut, Herr medhead! Ein find!

(Aaah! That is very good, Mr medhead. A find!)

You've not only staved off purgatory for this week, but also managed to bring the list now to 10 items left to find.

Week #8 has started!

Post #3 has been sent for update.

Only one find this week, which staved off purging but not enough to make the score go backwards thanks to attrition.

Only 10 items left to be found, but as expected they are going to be the hardest ones.

Well I think I'm out of items. Unless I check Munich airport for a soviet republic airline. Or pony up 35euro for a nice caviar lunch.

Although it would probably be a small serving and possibly inferior, I'm surprised that caviar can still be had at a price which is not completely outrageous.

Well I said lunch, but it is actually 6 or 10 grams of beuluga caviar for those 35 euro, served with blini. That's for the daily special, I think it was 100g for 165 euro takeaway.

Week #8: Nothing has been found this week yet!

Nothing has been found this week - looks like Purgatory may accept its first entrant this coming Tuesday...

Almost got the Lobster Thermador...

Talking of near misses there was a flight to Tblisi when I was in FRA last Wednesday night. No idea of the airline but not LH. Only remembered this when I checked the moving map and noticed Tblisi right there in a former soviet republic. Doh!

[*]Shot of a DJ cabin of a "rogue" aircraft (i.e. no real PE) showing at least rows 1, 2, 3 and 4.

Well back on DJ this morning and lo and behold a rogue aircraft. No live to air and standard seats in first 3 rows. VH-VUX photo taken from row 9.

Well done medhead! Once again you're bringing in the finds and preserving the game.

Really odd seeing one of these (I've never been on such an aircraft before. My 2 DJ flights last year were on "standard" aircraft.)

Now there's 9 items left to be found.

Week #9 has (already) started!

Sorry for being very late everyone! Post #3 updates sent, but week 9 has already started and well into it.

9 items left to be found; so far, medhead has done an excellent job holding up the fort and keeping purgatory empty. Can he do it again....?

Some really tough items left to be found...

I will be able to take care of at least one of these early next week, possibly two (although i'm not a huge fan of caviar, I know I will be in the right place to order it during the course of my travels over the next 2 weeks).

The week ends on the end of next Monday.

If no finds are registered before end of Monday next week, purging rules apply.

just please don't purge the one I can actually get, something to do with a board game :P

;)

Final Day of Week! No Items Found!!!

A reminder that the week is up today! No finds registered yet, so if nothing comes in by tonight, then the purgatory will welcome its first item. 21 points (15 for purge penalty and 6 for attrition) will be deducted tomorrow.

Week #10 has started!

No items were found last week. As a result, a random item was purged from the list.

To do this.... there were nine items left to be found. I used random.org to generate a random number in the range 1-9. The result was:
AFFScavHuntIII_Randomiser_Wk9Purge.jpg
So I selected the fifth remaining item (when sorted in ascending order of item number) and this was moved to Purgatory. This item was:
  • 24. Airport sign which is written in Cyrillic.

15 points was deducted as a purging penalty from the score, in addition to the normal 6 points of weekly attrition.

There are now 8 items left to be found.

Week #10: No items found yet!

No items have been found yet!

Remember that you all have until the end of next Monday (25 April) to find an item, otherwise another random item will be purged from the list and another heavy deduction to go with it!

Would 2 boarding passes showing BKK-AMM-DBX or return (in one continuous trip) meet the requirement (since I have this in my sticky little fingers) #graspingatstraws
