Well getting towards the end of the week. Do we have a find this week? Can we have a ruling on the rumbutans?

Just I don't want to lose any items as I have a cunning plan......

The delay is affecting my stratergy also.

Find! (#48)

Well getting towards the end of the week. Do we have a find this week? Can we have a ruling on the rumbutans?

Just I don't want to lose any items as I have a cunning plan......

I have been at pains to decide whether this was going to be a find or not.

Based on the initial intent that I set the item, I wanted people to find rambutans, possibly unpeeled, but then one would be cut open.

In saying that the picture does describe what is wanted (all three of them are "cut open", i.e. none have their protective skin), but it wasn't what I intended. Nevertheless, we've had a couple of these already in the hunt (this is the pain in setting the items - you have to describe near exactly what you want without being too wordy. I remember NM's clever "workaround" in the first hunt when I asked for two aircraft on an apron. This is why I keep saying things like "a real aircraft, not a model".)

In light of all of this, I'm going to award the find to meloz. Well done - sorry for the late ruling.

That staves off the no-find penalty for this week (which ends today).

Am loving this thread, just wish it had started a fortnight earlier then I could participate with at least number 20.

Still there's always the next one. :)

I wish it hadn’t started the day I was travelling to MEL and couldn’t really check the forum, as I was busy and then missed out.

Oh well :p

I wish it could have started 2 months later as i won't be doing any flying until May... I usually do one big lot of flying each year and no doubt SH4 will start just after i get back form this trip in August invalidating all the photos i take... still getting 4 so far without visiting an airport or taking a flight in that time isn't too bad i suppose...

Sorry to be pushy, I could have kicked in one this week. I'm sitting on it for the moment, but would have put it in, if needed.

I just know you’re going to snipe something I’m hoping to get next week on my upcoming flights :p

Week #6 has started!

Week #6 has started, and as of this post the update for post #3 has been sent for updating.

Again, only 1 item was found last week; now there are 14 items left to be found. With the finder of the latest item not being a new one, the score has now regressed by 4 points.

I guess I don't have to remind you all that if nothing is found before the week is up, a random remaining item will be purged from the list, and 15 points will be deducted (in addition to attrition). Pressure is on.... can the hunt be finished without purging?

Re: The List, The Score, The Fame

20. Boarding pass for a flight between two different cities which hosted a Summer Olympics in the 20th century (excluding Australian cities and cities which were selected to host but the Olympics were cancelled).

I've decided that I'm being stupid for holding onto this. BP MUC to BCN 2 summer olympic cities.

Edit: wow that picture is not doing good things. Let me try again.

That's a find! Munich held the Olympics in 1972, and Barcelona that in 1992. Both are in the 20th Century.

Once again, nothing is going to be purged....yet. Methinks the cunning had this strategy all along... ;)

According to [post=418331]this comment in this post[/post], there are no more DJ rogue aircraft.

This possibly means one of the items is now impossible, although I won't be removing it from the hunt nor protecting it from being purged (and the associated penalty). After all, you all had your chances. ;) :)

My problem is I'm not sure what a rogue aircraft looks like. But not back on DJ until 11 April, so will have to do my research then.

A "rogue" aircraft in this sense would:
  • not have extra pitch for rows 2 and 3,
  • not have the convertible seating in rows 1-3 &
  • have the different type of tray table in the 1-2/B/E seats.

[*]Boeing 747-400 aircraft belonging to a member of the SkyTeam alliance.

I think this will deal with number 30. I'm not big on skyteam and also it is a cargo aircraft.

I'll pay that one. That's a find - well done medhead!

Week #7 has started!

Modifications to post #3 have been sent to the moderators for updating.

3 items were found last week, thanks to sleuthing stalwarts medhead and meloz. It means that the net change to the score is neutral.

There are only 11 items to go in the hunt.

[*]"One Way" (Street) sign expressed in a language other than English.

Got this one outside the Augustiner brau where I have sampled the first dark, strong beer.
