The great SC chase

SJU is a well known cheaper destination and the fares fluctuate a bit.

In early February was able to snare a 5 segment 430 SC booking for under $500.

I'm in the states in a few weeks, but unfortunately this run seems to be almost three times that for my dates :(

Unless I am looking at the wrong thing?

I'm not sure what you're looking at. ;)

I've just checked the run mentioned in the very first post in this thread, as well as the one I alluded to earlier today, and they both seem to be available in August for the same good prices I'm seeing them at in December, which is when I'm looking at.

Clearly the wrong thing... I'm also looking at a narrow date window, which isn't helping.

I can see Sin City for $386 o.w.

I presume that's US$386. I'm seeing AU$376, which is as good as I've ever seen it. I paid about AU$500 for it last year.

Yeah, my prices are in USD.

Would anyone be interested in imparting some of their vast experience and knowledge on me (by PM perhaps)?

I'll be in NY in mid-February and looking for a good status run on AA that could take no more than two days and earn a good number of SC. 300 would be nice but I'm realistic. I'm kind of confused by all this KUPP and YUPP business though, can anyone explain how it works to me?

I realise I'm kind of pushing it, but maybe someone might be feeling nice? I'd even be prepared to sign some form of non-disclosure agreement or whatever because I'm just that desperate to be able to retain WP and I've only got 520/1200 booked for next year.

Yours, in complete and utter desperation,

Mgjdubs

Mgjdubs probably wait a couple of months for AA to bring out their winter specials. Most of the top SC runs incorporate a business class special and then working in as many flights before and after to maximise.

Found a new one today :
Head north of the dolphins, to catch a bear and wear a nice warm sweater when you get there
180 SC's for $372 US ( not the best but not bad ;) ) Will require an overnight stay for a return trip @ 360 SC. Good for those who prefer to stay within the 48 states

Potentially heading to the US in June this year, will have a spare day or two for a potential SC run, but I am a complete and utter nimby when it comes to cryptic clues...If I go I will be based in Washington DC. Is June a good time for SC runs? Isn't it summer holidays in the US then?

My annual run is always in June and have never had any problems finding something decent.
This year is slightly different as I normally arrive into LAX to begin the run but this year will arrive into PHL, and have a nice little crisscross booked.

What you want to do is focus on departing from a non-hub airport, to a non-hub airport... not sure about WAS specifically, but there are Status Runs from the city of vice that work out to ~ $1.7/SC and can be completed in a 24 hour span...
