Guys can we just remember that there was never any talk of an announcement that was to come with fireworks and the second coming of you know who. Nor was this thread started by us making such a claim.
The luncheon idea was to bring five AFF members together to explain to them our newest venture, prior to launch, so that when the launch was official, we had knowledgeable AFF folk able to discuss the benefits having heard straight from the horses mouth.

We will post the news at midnight, so for any members that are online they can disseminate it for themselves, and those that wake up at a normal time, can read about it over their morning coffee.

Is it the biggest news to come in 2011 for Velocity?
Probably not.
But we do believe what it does represent is more value to you the frequent flyers.
Cheers

As a maths teacher of mine used to say, "Well said that man". Assuming the VR account is written by a male. If not, the sentiment is the same.

I'm going to agree with Velocity on this too. We were specifically asked, in good faith mind you and not with NDA's or anything like that, not to disclose the news until midnight. We respect their request, as should everyone here. Also remember this was about a new "partnership", so clearly there is more than one party involved.

This was a great opportunity to meet directly with the people who make our traveling lives easier. We've had a good discussion, and look forward to bringing you more details of the new partnership very soon - 3.5 hours away to be precise!

Be patient, and if you don't want to wait up, the information posted at midnight will still be here tomorrow.

This was something to be enjoyed - if you have to wait a few more hours then that's all just part of the fun! It's not like we're sworn to secrecy for another week or something!

And just to keep you guessing, I don't think the partnership involves 5 letters!

Again I missed out all the "action" ..... or lack of action in this thread.

Quite amazing that there are so many post about "nothing".

Oh well, I think I will just sleep, wake up tomorrow morning and check out what the heck is all about.

Can I buy a vowel?

I can't believe I just read this entire thread either. I think there's a bottle of 2008 Shiraz with my name on it to enjoy. I will check back tomorrow :)

WHAT????????????????????????????????????????????? Someone could have let us in on this before.

It's not Delta then and it's likely to be something we haven't heard much or anything about... The latest vibe seems to be some sort of either credit card or consumer something but not Coles or Flybuys. I think it could be something new.

ps. make sure you start another new "official" "official" thread at one past the middle of the night.

I dont know if I would read this whole thread now, but let me tell you, it was either work or see what was going on at the forums during the day

+1

I would really hate for Virgin to discontinue contact with this forum, and not invite members to launch events, meetings with executives ect. We are lucky to have them on this forum, and lucky to be given the heads up on upcomming improvements to the Velocity Rewards program.

First comment: I totally agree and we are a very lucky minority group that has direct access to Airline reps without going through the various normal channels

Second Comment: Give it up Liam - the lunch is over - no need to work for an invite anymore ;)

I can't believe I have just wasted 15 minutes of my life reading this thread... :-|

A few new planes, a fresh coat of paint, a change of uniform, and people are thinking they are seeing the second coming of Christ.

I was under the impression that the devil incarnate was involved in the last set of changes at QFF

I thought somebody here said this information was under embargo? So you didn't have to sign one?

My pick is Telstra. Has been my guess for a while. But, my gut feeling is that we are seeing something new and something more complex. Perhaps Shop'n'Earn is being relaunched in association with a credit card provider. Only 3 hours (roughly) left until we know!!

Optus has 5 letters... and wait, owned by a company called Singapore Telecommunications. Is this it???

First SingAir, then SingTel...
