Flying QF36 (in Y) back to Melbourne in about ten days time as an SG, 21:00 departure time, what are my options to lounges with PCs and printers besides the BA lounge ?
Cheers

Emirates lounge and Skyview lounge should do the trick.

If worse comes to you the Qantas lounge can take you into SATS lounge if you really need to use a desktop and print something. There isn't an agreement in place but the staff know each other and help each other out.

Interesting. If I find myself solo in Singapore I might go and have a look at the other lounges. The beauty of the Qantas Lounge is under the published QF access rules, they will accommodate two children (on the way up it was me + 3 kids). On the way back, my wife joined us, and I knew it'd be at the discretion of the lounge staff for access - but they were very accommodating.

greenfish, I totally respect someone with QF status being allowed to bring in their immediate family, so for your sake I'm glad this works.

But as a young person without kids, this is the reason I recommend to everyone who is eligible, leave the QF Singapore Zoo and go to the EK lounge. Absolute bliss.

Runway views, practically deserted outside EK flight times, table service, real champagne, better food.

Lamb cutlets, chicken and beef satay sticks and Moet. Compared to QF, screaming kids, rice and chicken/beef/fish slop and sparkling.

I think you're a bit harsh on the QF lounge.

The food looks nice but not as nice as the freshly cooked salmon that was on offer on my last visit to the QF lounge. No screaming kids when I was in there (my kids wouldn't dare - I'd banish them to the terminal) - and big screens with the Super 15 semi on one and AFL on the other. Great atmosphere even if it wasn't the Reds night...

The lounge was busy last night, and many kids, which was unusual given there were no school holidays in Australia. Parents dont seem to worry about their kids behaviour anymore, not just here but also noticeable in Singapore and Bali. Of course parents find their own kids behaviour cute but frankly I don't want to have to watch it. Finally found a comfy couple of chairs at the far end of the lounge but it cleared out a little when the Sydney flight left. The food was nice, and plenty of it and replenished frequently. The ceiling was covered in!

Staff seemed nice and friendly, more so than the clientele, but I guess they'd flown in from London and were tired.

Speaking of nice food - that croissant handed out for J breakfast was simply delicious - crispy and flaky and very tasty ham and cheese! I was quite surprised, but also hungry as I'd skipped dinner the night before to get some early sleep in.

It is one of the main reasons I hate the Qantas lounges overseas.

I do not want to be around parents who think their children behaving like spolit brats in lounges is normal behaviour and everyone around them should feel sorry for them and put up with it.

Give me the peace of the Skyview lounge anytime.

I think it's even more than having us feel sorry for their child's bratty behaviour. The parents might actually think others find it endearing!

I am going to start disciplining other people's children if I see it at QF lounges in future. Perhaps it might embarrass the parents into action.

Do EK have creme brulee like the QF lounge?

Hmm, the two kids that were playing up had a father who was wearing a singlet, tatts everywhere and the boy had a rat tail. Not someone I would mess with.

damn i wish i was there...i would have said something... my tolerence of certain people who dont know how to conduct themselves in public spaces is very low... im speaking as a 'middle aged' male who is sick of the demise of social behaviour:evil:

Stereotyping?

If I had posted that in the lounge standards thread they would have come down on me like a ton of bricks. :p

in here last week, tasty food and awesome desserts. Erdinger on tap and a lovely waitress by the name of Catalina I think. She went out of her way and looked after me very well. I like that there are options for ordering freshly made food. Didn't need to eat on board. Very impressed.

Yes. Agreed.
So let's unbundle it a little.

Tatts alone - fine. Singlet - hmm, not so fine but on its own, I can live with it. Bratty kids - hmm, usually think the kids are having a tanty day - I get them too. Parent ignoring kids bratty behaviour - we'd just move away. But let's put that all in a package - heavily tattoed, singlet, bratty kids, parents letting them be bratty in a busy lounge - it tells its own story.

I must admit its not unusual to find some feet with thongs on resting on a table somewhere in the lounge, always a good look.
