Had a top weekend in SYD with cousins and family, celebrating two birthdays.

Had the delight of finding out I was traveling back on the same VA plane with one of my cousins daughters, so I showed her the benefits of status (priority check-in, ramp to VA Lounge and private security screening, upstairs in The Lounge and Priority Boarding - plus Row 3 seating).

She is a Producer with a radio Station in BNE and shared that she had interviewed Barry Gibb. Certainly passed the time on the flight

He shouldn't be meddling with politics in another country. I wonder if he was on a diplomatic, official or ordinary passport. Could have In fluenced how he was dealt with.

And as for the first minister to be deported... meh. Someone has to get the title just like there was once a first pollie to have fraud allegations against them, theft charges against them, sexual misconduct charges against them etc etc.

There were labor and I think liberal Federal politicians with him so he wasn't acting alone.
Gah, keep reading before posting. Medhead beat me to it. Funny, my autocorrect keeps wanting me to change that to redhead. Which needs to go in the election thread.

Maybe a question best answered by the female fraternity here on AFF.

I want to gift Cruiserette a somewhat unique ticket wallet if I can find something suitable.

Would dearly love to find something's unique / distinctive if possible - must actually be ticket wallet and not oversized purse - maybe leather animal print or similar.

Suggestions ladies?

I recently bought this -

mywalit Stores Australia | Double Zip Mega Purse

and I love it, it holds your passport / phone - is a small size and has a shoulder strap - and it is only 11x14 cm !

My travel wallet is cheap and cheerful but very high quality and unique :
Ansett Oroton leather wallet
TRAVEL WALLET (Oroton Leather) [421] - $25.00 : Flarose - Ansett Australia Merchandise

I'll keep using that until I've saved up for a Chanel ;)

I can understand work related email being signed off with "warm regards" or "kind regards" but I've just had a "fond regards". It seems just a little too personal especially since I've never met this lady.

Is it just me?

We were directed to use Kind Regards a while ago so people just put it into their email signature and that to me means that they didnt even think about the format of their regards.

Personally I just use regards or cheers.

Seems familiar?

I use "Kind Regards" when communicating with someone I'm unfamiliar with, or when formality is required. I used to use "Yours sincerely"; I'm not exactly sure why I deviated away from that closer. Probably because it's quite old fashioned and it seems a more endearing term that is actually less formal than it appears.

"Regards" by itself is usually a more subtle version or used for a quick-fire reply.

Often between colleagues I just use "Cheers".

You're all too kind, we just have "regards".

That's pretty much exactly what I do

I basically use regards all the time unless so want some info or they have given me an answer in which case it's cheers as in thanks. I did stump up a warm regards in reply to the fond regards.

Smooth?

Not just you. Fondness pushes past the boundaries of politeness. But then, I'm not a "warm regards" person either. One of our PA's used that expression and it made my toes curl every time.

Kind is what I use.

Although for a first email "of the day" to someone I would use "kind regards" and then if we banter back and forth, it would be Cheers.

I once went over the top with superlatives for meetings with mining types - wonderful that sort of thing. Mainly to be more expressive about acknowledging their efforts. That stopped when I used "lovely" one day.

Oh dear. That would have gone down well. Lovely. I don't think even I use that word. Did they shuffle their feet and look at their shoes? Or rip forth with a huge laugh? Probably the former.
I find myself gushing these days, like having a conversation with the guys digging up the street for instance. Then I realise I am sounding like my mother. She got quite upset one day when having to order a courier pick up. She said the girl was so rude that as soon as she had given her address she had hung up. I had to explain to her that time is business.
