The totally off-topic thread

Do NOT under any circumstances go and read the FT thread where Dave Noble, JDiver and others are going head to head on the earning of AA EQM/EQP's on QF coded EK flights :
It will give you a migraine !!!
You have been warned

Had a quick squizz... don't see the issue - seemed like a pretty tame argument.

Having met JDiver in person, knowing he is a mod he will assume a diplomatic stance. Having engaged Dave Noble in an argument online before, I know the Apocalypse will occur well before he budges on a point.

Some of us (viz. FT readers) might be reading a lot more Dave Noble after the QF/EK tie up, as Dave Noble is a stolid EK flyer.

It was a pretty tame but very circuitous (and eye spinning) hence my reference to the migraine.
Interesting times both here and FT with the QF/EK tie-up and the big AA/US merger

Completely agree on both points.

Caught up with Dave on the weekend in SYD. I am now in possession of some very interesting EK tricks, but not likely to use

Stolid?better hope Dave doesn't read that-
"Having or revealing little emotion or sensibility; impassive"

Impassive,I think not.

In exactly 3 weeks time my wife and I will be disembarking at LHR to start an 8 week European Grand Tour. Can't wait. Etihad J class the whole way there and back.

First chance I got to chat online I must admit I rubbed it in a fair bit. If I recall correctly, he was considering a move to SQ :p

 What a way to go!

Have a great time......buy & eat heaps.

Surely me!

[I have no idea what you're talking about, but I reckon I'm winning ... :P]
Surely you ... :D

There's few people around as switched on.

My query was in relation to the JD/DN discussion that PF pointed out.

Due to AA's simplistic systems, I reckon DN (.deity. forbid) is likely correct... (I am thinking some AA aficionados don't want that sort of thing publicised. ..)

Thanks. Our main worry is leaving the kids in charge of the house and, especially, my Tommy.

<----------

Don't worry. We had a 5 week trip last year & we left my just turned 18 year old nephew to house sit including two young fox terriers that love chasing cane toads when the sun drops.

All three survived.

We were all young once.....as long as nothing gets broken, stolen or stained - no harm done.

Yeah, I know. Slightly tongue in cheek before. Last time we went to Europe for 7 weeks, six of our seven kids were still at home, and nobody killed anyone. Tommy wasn't around then though.......

I take it Tommy is the hound? I'm sure he'll look after them ok! :)

God I love AA and *A (UA/AC) Priority Baggage... :)

Works 1000% of the time without fail :)

Even my oversize bag joined my other 3 in arriving 1st off the belt. I almost forgot what it was like with my nifty old system of balancing 4 bags on a luggage cart (bag number 4 is taller than Lindsay Wilson) ;)
