Given we are in line for 10 days >30 degrees I might just disagree at the moment.
Why? That has to be a lot better than walking out of the office on what is a relatively fine day to catch the train home and by the time you get off the train it is pissing down.

And no umbrella....

Heck no, I love cold rainy days and rarely use an umbrella anyway.

Dont get me started about HR....I coin the phrase "Value Deduct" as their add to our organisation.

It is impressive that your boss tied themselves to keeping you. Kudos.

That would engender so much loyalty and goodwill from me. I've never had a boss who would do that for me.

He's definitely won back a few brownie points after some poor behaviour last month. We get on well but he can be hard to work with sometimes.

I did tell him that I had an interview today so he is aware that there is still a possibility I might leave, but that I do enjoy working there and would prefer to stay as long as I got the improved contract. Interview went well so I guess its just a wait and see now...

Reliving the grandeur of flying.. Circa 1930's
Can anyone recognise these two?

I like living in my own home and not dealing with scumbag real estate agents as a tenant. In fact even as a landlord it wasn't all that good.
I agree with you. I have been at my current place for ~5 years and they still want a new contract signed for 12 months each time. It makes them look good in the eyes of the landlord.

I would really feel more comfortable to be able to leave at any time with reasonable notice. e.g. 4 weeks, 2 months etc. If I sign a contract in September and get sacked/retrenched/leave in December then if I want to break lease I need to pay 1 month penalty and continue to pay rent until the property is tenanted. What incentive do real estates have to rent a property with another 9 months remaining on lease? None.

And some people find it difficult to understand why people some refer to real estate agents as "snakes in the grass". Enough said....

Our tenants have been in our place for almost 2 years. Originally they were on a 12 month lease but we've agreed to a month by month plan. He is chief engineer at a major Government project. They need to give just one month notice then they can leave. They are great tenants and so far they've been there an additional 12 months. Surely you can go on a lease plan like that?

We did the same for our tenant.

I think you need to approach the agent and ask for monthly.

The risk for you is that it's easier for them to get you out, or increase the rent.

They may also try and ask for $10-$20/wk more.
