Was it still edible?

I'm not willing to test the theory, but some of it probably is...

Wow. Antique food. There's a series in the uk called extreme cleaners (or something like that) ... shows some very interesting house cleans.

I've started a "retro collection" of old food stuff. Includes "Aeroplane Parisian Essence" which you apparently use to colour your food "a rich brown"...

My ILs have been clearing up a bit since my great-aunt-in-law died two years ago, and they had to do the bulk of the clean up at her house. I took some unopened sheet packs to a donation station. They had Coles New World price stickers on them, and the cost was something incredible for a single sheet (even under a dollar maybe!).

A lot of stuff has the old Safeway price stickers on it with crazy low prices. Also found a 1972 Woman's Weekly Yoga guide and other assorted clippings.

Same here, its called the back of the fridge, too busy traveling to delve into the wilds of my fridge!

I'm just glad someone emptied her fridge a few months back, though I did find one missed container of something unidentifiable that went straight in the bin...

Mum and dad have a little bit of money left in Greece.

They wanted to bring it back 4 years ago when the exchange rate was 1AUD=0.6 Euro but I told them to wait until the exchange rate improved. :( Anyway mum is bringing it back with her in July assuming the world economy does not go belly up before then.

And by the way I do not understand all this global financial crisis. The whole world is in trouble yet a few people are still able to get away with megabucks in salaries and bonuses.

Well. I'm not sure anyone does. Seems to have been based around debt and inflated prices. And even in the great depression, there were still winners. But way too many losers. Not that I'm that old of course! ;)

I definitely do not understand but I am sure there are some that can totally justify it.

I vaguely remember the CEO of Rio Tinto recently walk away with squillions after being dumped for not being able to do his job properly? Sad times....

Just popped a Billecart-Salmon for the first time, as part of a mixed half dozen champagnes I put together from Dan Murphys.

It is amazingly drinkable, tops the Veuve for NV Champagnes for me now.

I've done it before, but this is made harder by the fact we can't get rid of things, as the owner has moved into care. Just boxing and storing mostly. Found food that expired in the early 90s

Hopefully you're not boxing up the food.

If it is not meant to be then it is not meant to be.

Why oh why am I still up at this time when I am playing golf early in the morning?

I popped my sons Christmas gift of Moet last night. Having visited the Epernay cellars last year where this bottle rested for three years I felt like I was back in France. I tried Billiecart over Christmas but am preferring the Moet. Probably means that Champagne is also about the memory/experience and not just the taste. Nothing like drinking champagne in crystal goblets in cellars holding one of the original Dom Perignon bottles.

They're making an offer you can't refuse. ABC2 is running the Godfather movies over the next three nights starting tonight. I reckon they still hold up even after 40 years from the original.

82 year old Australian man arrested in UK re sex offences associated with that creep Jimmy Saville. Pretty easy to work out who that is.

The plan though is to play 4 games of golf over the next 4 days. ....

This is a good Easter plan.
My Easter plan revolves around "The List", thoughtfully provided (and regularly "enhanced") by MrsTheEmu…
I like your plan better!
May your balls fly straight and your putts be true! :)

One down and 3 to go. Although I am not sure I will be able to last until the 4th game.

I would hate to see what is on "The List"....
