The totally off-topic thread

Just listening to 3AW rumour file (live internet in the USA), a large currency supplier has been unable to fulfil orders for travellers because of an alleged theft somewhere in the packing room.

Looks like a couple of hundred people so far have missed out on their cash. Wonder if anybody here was affected?

What is on in Melbourne on the weekend 17th May? Prices at the Hyatt are insane. Any famous people?

Anyone seen Mr DYKWIA?

No sign of him recently.

I wonder if someone finally KWHW and he's disappeared?
I have spoken to him recently. Send me a PM or better still an SMS if you still have my number and I can give you further details.

Yes. Apparently the AFL is on the list. So if drron's not there it makes no sense. I'm hoping for a celeb spot. Lucky we had heaps of points to burn and have a club room but the one night we are paying for is $665 . But overall costing just $200 a night. But going to have to make the most of the inclusions.

You could do worse. Try using a non-US based keyboard. Or a Linux configured custom browser.

I'd also list non-English interfaces, but luckily you can infer those (e.g. due to icons, layout).
Too difficult. I seem to have issues with some websites not displaying English even though I have set English as the default.

It's becoming a standard alright - for some reason, many people have gotten used to tap-to-click. I can use it, but I don't like it. It takes quite a bit of finesse. One reason why sometimes using your own system is a better idea, but not a practical solution for some.
Back to Microsoft and Apple debate. Who gets to decide standards? Tap-to-click should not be a standard/default but something that can be changed in the settings temporarily if that it what you want to use.

I use taptoclick on my XP Netbook all the time, as well as Tap'nDrag etc... But for longer sessions I have a portable bluetooth mouse.

I can easily disable/enable the mouse pad with Fn+F7 ...

Love how this thread has so many topics going on and everyone seems to keep up with them all. Oops, is that on-topic?

You obviously travel a lot more than me! ;)

I have done work in places where there is large QTY of cash and the security is to the extreme.

Sounds like an inside job and very relaxed security.

And something I do not remember happening to me in a long time. A 747 using a standoff bay in SYD and bused into T1....
