Medicare levy going up 0.5%! Enough taxes arleady.

Income tax, medicare levy, private health insurance (otherwise more tax), flood levy, stamp duty, carbon tax. And that is before we get to all the indirect taxes. :(

Just caught up from last week? Isn't the flood levy gone? The Carbon tax would be an indirect tax as well, wouldn't it?

No flood levy anymore, and the rise on medicare levy was flagged well before last night..

I hardly ever read the news. Boring. Same everyday. But the story of Julia Gillard crying caught my eye and that is wher the medicare levy increase was mentioned.

Carbon tax may well be indirect and so is stamp duty.

Didn't say it was related to the budget.

Good news about the flood levy though. I thought it was here to stay.

This is number 3.It gets easier.
I have had 5 or 6 although I haven't had one in ~6 years which is not good.

The first time back in 1994 I did 2 in the space of couple of months. It was never difficult. I can think of worse things.

2 in 2 months? Really?
Yes. Helicobacter pylori.

As I was already doing a Gastroscopy the doctor recommended Colonoscopy as well and then after 4-6 weeks of triple therapy (I think this is normally only 2 weeks) I had another Gastroscopy.

Not fun. The Helicobacter pylori that is and the treatment is no fun either....

I wasn't sure what stamp duty is, besides damn annoying.

Ulcers are not fun.
No, not fun at all.

Funny part is I had a "normal" ulcer ~5 years earlier and a course of Tagamet cured that one. Heart broken, too much stress, too much smoking and 6 buddy's of coke a day can do that to you.

Just about the only person on QF404 this morning who is not wearing a suit.
