Oh and I want to sing and dance that none of the weird cough I pack for a trip (it geek stuff mainly) triggered on the scanner at LGW. Maybe I've learnt how to separate cables etc to reduce the chance of it looking suss.

Showers expected this weekend though.....

That's an English summer for you. We were there in July last year and it rained, bucketed, non stop for five days. They were predicting it to continue for the Olympics but it seemed to improve a little.

For us older generations we say good bye to Esther Williams. Was surprised she was only 91.

And best wishes to Anna Bligh.

Just overcast at Gatwick. Was chilly this morning though when I was wandering around. Showers expected this weekend though.....

Yeh, was a bit chilly as I was walking to the office. No idea what it's like now though ... I should probably head out for some air around lunchtime though

Brilliant up in Glasgow... The sun is out. Average temp seems to be quite nice (even in shade)

Anyone going to the soccer qualifier for Brazil this week? Four young Socceroos supporters from Perth are in Melbourne for the game.
We really need a win.

Would have loved to organize my MEL trip to correspond with the game - alas, my son is having another (hopefully last) eye operation on Tuesday, so that blew my chances. Trip is Monday week instead

Hope that goes well Lindsay.
I have Mrscove in Melbourne for the weekend in between her weekday treatments. Only 13 more to go so I think I will do a JASA for her before her DSC finishes on June 30th.
Just depends on how she goes with the radiation tiredness.

Wishing you both the best for your family members' situations. Neither situation is welcome.

One of my bugbears when I stay at a hotel... Access card incorrectly programmed (or gets wiped) and you need to get it reset....

Rant= F'ing movie theatres and allocated seating. Works great, excellent idea. Until some complete and utter sods take your seat and refuse to get out.

Same thing happened to my Cuz on a ICE train in Germany after a World Cup Match... To cut a long story short the German K@#t gave up his seat after threats of physical violence.

A nice couple offered to move for us and we actually ended up in better seats. I was going to drag the sod out of his seat. But SWMBO wouldn't let me. The best bit was once we were all settled into the news seats he threatened to "see me outside." Yeah ok mate, he couldn't get 4 teenage girls to move out of your seats; what was he going to do outside.

Anyway, I'm a bit worked up by the whole confrontation. It's spoilt the whole evening.

Similar thing has happened to be in the past. I know it's not what we were taught when young, but I've been known to go get the usher and tell them the problem. The people sitting in my seat might not want to move for me but they will for the 15 year old usher. It's always fun watching it unfold. :)

On a jetstar flight, my seat was occupied by someone who was with her friends.
Her reply? " I thought we could just sit anywhere!"
I couldn't be bothered arguing as there were plenty of seats anyway, but the FA was distinctly unhelpful, except to say that I couldn't sit in them , ie had to squash in with the girls friends in her actual seat until we had taken off.
