Cheers. [some thought about dysfunctional governments]

I just found the info on the NAB website. Where do credit card payments go?

So I've cost myself full interest for a few days on $1200 worth of airfares. :( But at least, thanks to this thread I've now made a payment to the card. :D Thanks everyone.

Interesting that they mention charges on your statement. What do they do with new charges? Presume charge interest until statement if there is an outstanding balance?

Hell!!! I didn't read that closely. Maybe I haven't saved myself at all. :(

could be that the balance transfer amount will be reduced by the $1200 I just paid as the $1200 of purchases just made (and not on the last statement) will sit there accruing interest. Worst case I'll the current $1200 payment will go against the balance transfer and I'll still have the purchases to pay off at the next statement.

Re: A day of blues

I don't ever recall it being 3 points for a field goal - it was 1 point by the 1970s, down from 2 I thought, but I could be wrong. Simms has always said he didn't believe he influenced the change but he is a Rabbitohs (and aboriginal) Rugby League legend either way.
The 4 point try came in in the early 80s from memory.
Field Goals went from 2 to 1 in 1971.

Try's went from 3 to 4 points in 1983.

Re: A day of blues

Yeah! Wimbledon starts tomorrow. I'll finally have something to watch on TV in the evenings...well, for a couple of weeks. :D

Indeed it is. Let's hope it warms up and the threat of rain goes away. Mal, I'm planning to go the 2nd week, if you're around let me know and I'll pass on the details.

Well at the moment I plan on working... But if that falls through or is delayed (both are quite possible) then I could be free. But not booking out any week days post July 1 at this stage... And of course the next two weekends are also busy :D

Well, at least the roof offers some continuity. Wimbledon is the only Grand Slam still on my to-do list and the way things are going, I can't see me being there at that time for a couple of years.

Sorry but Wimbledon is a slam but not a grand slam. A grand slam is either a calender or a non calender slam consisting of the four major tournaments.

I wouldn't call it a slam myself. A grand slam event, maybe. Annoys the cough out of me when TV commentators call each individual major tournament a gland slam.

I think the problem lies with the yanks mainly and their improper use of the collective term "grand slam" with the last Male to achieve it in a calender year was Rod Laver and the last female IIRC was Steffi Graf had a golden slam (Olympic Gold medal on top). I think their might have been a non calender slam (Nadal or Serena) and a few players have achieved a Career slam, eg Federer, Agassi etc

It certainly confuses the whole issue. I'm currently waiting in an emergency department for a minor issue that just couldn't wait for the GP in the morning. So my tolerance levels for such cough are rather low. I would've guessed federer or nadal did a grand slam the way they've played. But I don't follow stats like that.

Wining a grand slam comes from card games and winning a 3 of 4 constituted a little slam.

Looking at the records, Serena was the last non calender grand slam holder. No Male has been a calender or non calender grand slam holder since Rod Laver.

Anyone have a reommendation for a travel agent? I remember there is was one or two on here.

Basically I know the flights I want but don't want to pay the full balance just yet particular while we save for a wedding. Is this possible? 50% now the balance say 2 months before etc?

Re: A day of blues

Not enough tries these days in Union - all seems to be penalty goals - but I guess what can you do....

There were lots of tries at the Mates4Mates game at Ballymore on Friday night! ;)

He's South Australian. ;) And will bring the team together as opposed to a bunch of (sometimes) good players. Unlike the current leadership group.

Goodness wiki is quick

And some call him shrek.

Opps... for some reason I mixed up sandgroper and crow eaters? Probably because they don't do AFL state of origin or they hardly show domestic cricket on free to air tv anymore.
