I had most of his novels on Kindle - spent a lot of time reading them at airports...

Good yarns, not as hi-tech as Tom Clancy but not too bad either.

So sad, only 47 !

So sad to see the Wallabies missing out a win with wayward penalty kicking (x2)

But then, sweet justice as some years ago, John Eales won the Bledisloe cup with a penalty kick

Unfortunately, these days around 90% of all games are decided on penalty goals:(

The game has become boring......spoken by an ex-player.

Re: A day of blues

Can someone please stop these dark clouds from going any further? Quickly....

The penalty kick needs to be reduced to 2 points to encourage more attack.

I think gridiron has that one just about right.

They have 6 points for a touchown, 1 for a conversion, 3 for a penalty.

I remember many years ago a similar story. Only the pair back then went to melbourne. They changed their mind in the cab on the way into town. Caught a flight straight home.
There was a big to do on the tv at the time

American football has been like that for some time.

It was not really that long ago in Rugby League when a try was worth 3 points, the conversion 1 extra point and a field (drop) goal 2 points.

The point earn isn't the problem......It's the continuous blowing of the bloody pea!

The Sunday mail has a story about a 'Hull of a life' today (comparing ADL and Hull).

Would only be a short hop for me to check out the place and give my rundown... Only 60miles. Alas I'm off to Carlisle instead (apparently one of the most scenic rail routes in the UK)... Now if only the weather would be kind!

Anyone in the SIN QF lounge right now?

On an unrelated matter, anyone ever been "Ill" in first class? Didn't make too much of a mess, lucky for pajama packaging. Don't think anyone else even saw, or could see.

Air sickness happens. Many people have "Ill on board stories".
A BA crew were very concerned about my health on one flight... I think it was the constant scotch and champer refills. Basically passed out and slept like a log... Completely dead to the world. Suffered dehydration as a result though. A long day in Bangkok and not enough water combined with a cold completely threw me.

I am proud that I've never been "sick" onboard a flight. Even with some horrible turbulence etc. but there is always a first time for everything.

They actually missed 4 goals total.

Not sure about justice. Are you suggesting that there should be no penalty for infringing the laws? I also remember a well placed try by kefu some years ago that might have won a bledisloe cup. Should missing tries be sweet justice as well?

Every year I reckon the lions have a come from a long way behind win.

I thought it was 3 points for a try, 2 points for a conversion and 3 points for a field goal.

And then because of Eric Simms they reduced the field goal to 1 point.

And then in the 80's they did not allow shots for goal from differential penalties or scrum infringments.

And then they increased the try to 4 points.

I've felt nauseous before and had a bit of motion sickness after very long trips and multiple flights but never vomited on board.

However once I suspected that a 6 hour coach ride would be difficult after a long red-eye so had the forethought to grab one of the sickbags off the aircraft....an inspired choice, as it turned out!

I did have a young child vomit in the aisle right next to me about 18 months ago. Copped a bit but that happens. I figure the parents have to care for the kid a lot longer than it took me to clean off a little vomit. And the crew having to clean up the bulk of it, of course.

Finally, anyone been watching Le Mans? I knew Simonsen was serious but I was hoping he would not pass away. Feel terrible for all those he knew - many in Australia as he often raced here in several championships. You can never question the class of Aston Martin though - Aston Martin - The Official Website shows you why. R.I.P.

I have only been sick once after a four hour patrol at 100amsl over Bass Strait in a Caribou, and it was just after landing , had to clean it up too! Never had an issue in a F18 or an Extra 300 doing Gs, but had a lot more to look at in both cases.
