On an unrelated matter, anyone ever been "Ill" in first class? Didn't make too much of a mess, lucky for pajama packaging. Don't think anyone else even saw, or could see.

Yes. I hurled one time whilst flying QF F - was the first time ever that I've thrown up related to alcohol.

Basically the first time I'd tackled a QF F degustation, who give rather generous wine pours and I was silly enough to drink all of them - to the last drop, plus the welcome Champagne. Didn't help I was so tired to start with (the body is under stress but the mind says all systems OK - a bit like QF operating 10 year old aircraft, really :p :o).

The crew were excellent. I did make it to the sick bag in time, and two members of the F crew took care of me for a while with water and tea before I nodded back to sleep. Was fine once we hit the ground.

From then on, I've learned that tiredness and alcohol in excess don't mix!

Original trip report here: http://www.australianfrequentflyer....dacious-australian-asian-adventure-18744.html (it was my QF31 flight)

Anyone have a reommendation for a travel agent? I remember there is was one or two on here.

Basically I know the flights I want but don't want to pay the full balance just yet particular while we save for a wedding. Is this possible? 50% now the balance say 2 months before etc?

Would a balance transfer of 2.99% for 9 months make you happy? :D I had another month to go of a 0% balance transfer and was wondering what happens next.

And then Citibank comes to the party with a 0% balance transfer for 6 months but a 2% fee on balance transfer.

Small wins in the grand scheme of things.

Re: A day of blues

They actually missed 4 goals total.

Not sure about justice. Are you suggesting that there should be no penalty for infringing the laws? I also remember a well placed try by kefu some years ago that might have won a bledisloe cup. Should missing tries be sweet justice as well?

I was referring to the fact that sometimes we (Wallabies) win - other times, we lose - courtesy of the penalty kick success or failure.

It has nothing to do with why the penalty was awarded, hence the x-reference to Eales' winning kick in 2000.

The trouble with 0% balance transfers is that you basically can't use the card until the free period comes to an end as the deal is that you pay off the 0% or low% first
So as soon as you purchase something you are paying 20% on it unless you pay off the full amount then you've cleared the 0% part anyway.
So they work if you transfer then make minimum payments don't buy anything then clear it as the free period ends, then they work really well but I'm guessing few people use them that way

When England had Johnny Wilkinson, penalty kicks on his boot was really the only reason why the English team was a decent competition (and eventually won themselves a Rugby World Cup, at our expense).

Not enough tries these days in Union - all seems to be penalty goals - but I guess what can you do....

If you know me then you will know I have lots of maxxed out credit cards. Paying the minimum amount of interest is a huge win.

SQ Suite

Too much bubbles with an empty stomach on boarding, I think.

The 'mess' was well contained by the generous white table cloth.

FAs were magnificent, bringing hot tea / mint unprompted a few min later.

Well in that case I agree it could easily be thousands saved which is good :)

Goodness. Is this flight related illness peculiar to F and J travellers? Rarely travel in those classes but have never seen anyone being ill. Must be the bubbles. :)

Which is why I don't get calling it sweet justice. A penalty kick is award or not and it's kick or not. I can hardly see losing last night as some sort of cosmic karma for winning 10 years ago from a kick. Just a matter of stuff happening. Hell if that was the case I'm still waiting for sweet justice for South Africa winning a World Cup from kicking.

As I currently have an offset account against my mortgage at ~5% any balance transfer on a card below 5% is winning for me.

Damn, might have to double check my current transfer. But I did think NAB ha introduced a policy that the highest interest balance was paid off first. So beside the ongoing interest situation, it could be possible to use the card and maintain the balance transferred at low interest.

I think the bottom line like it or not is that kicking is a huge part of the modern game, the British Lions have 2 excellent kickers and the guy that missed the last two for the Wallabies was 3rd in line?

Israel was superb though as the commentator said he be needs to be in the ashes side lol

Well that was my experience with Citbank I'd be surprised if the others were different they're only doing it for their own benefit but you might be lucky

Oh yeah they're always going to struggle without a decent kicker. I thought liliafro (spelling?) was the first line kicker. Having him carried off in the first few minutes can't have helped. Dare I mention the name but Cooper has kicked pretty well during the super rugby this year.

I've read a few comments about Folau needing to go to Brazil next.

Yeah! Wimbledon starts tomorrow. I'll finally have something to watch on TV in the evenings...well, for a couple of weeks. :D

The government introduced that ruling.... Some banks (cough commonwealth / bankwest) haven't implemented it for old credit accounts just new ones. Other banks have changed how they apply repayments... Highest interest rate first.

Cheers. [some thought about dysfunctional governments]

I just found the info on the NAB website. Where do credit card payments go?
First, we put your payment towards amounts that appear on your current printed statement. Charges that attract a higher interest rate come first, then charges with a lower interest rate.

  • Cash advances attract the highest interest rate, so they come first.
  • Then normal purchases and fees.
  • If you have any special interest rates (like a short-term balance transfer rate), they come next.

So I've cost myself full interest for a few days on $1200 worth of airfares. :( But at least, thanks to this thread I've now made a payment to the card. :D Thanks everyone.

Re: A day of blues

I thought it was 3 points for a try, 2 points for a conversion and 3 points for a field goal.

And then because of Eric Simms they reduced the field goal to 1 point.

And then in the 80's they did not allow shots for goal from differential penalties or scrum infringments.

And then they increased the try to 4 points.

I don't ever recall it being 3 points for a field goal - it was 1 point by the 1970s, down from 2 I thought, but I could be wrong. Simms has always said he didn't believe he influenced the change but he is a Rabbitohs (and aboriginal) Rugby League legend either way.
The 4 point try came in in the early 80s from memory.

And some have followed the letter of the rule in that it only applies to statemented charges. Any charge that has not appeared on a statement falls outside the government rules.
