Happy first day of winter to all my fellow AFFers. Or happy first day of summer if you are lucky enough to be in another hemisphere!

Hahaha. Is this what they call summer? 23, pouring with rain and high humidity?

The adjustment will be hard, I agree. The concept of annual leave will hit hard if I manage to land a full-time job!
In my opinion it is extremely important to find an employer that is flexible and cares about employees.

On top of 4 weeks annual leave we are allowed to purchase 2 weeks annual leave and on top of that I can also take ~3-4 weeks unpaid leave. I can ask for more leave as well but for now that is sufficient.

One of our people was talking about buying leave today. It is very common on England where she worked.

Interesting, never come across it here! That being said, my wife gets 6 weeks anyway.

Well the role I'm looking at has 4 weeks leave per year increasing to 5 after 3 years service. So six isn't too shabby at all!

My fiancé is a teacher... she get's enough leave to cover both of us!

Tell's me tonight only one more week till holidays!

Thanks for all the positive comments :)

I'm sure it will take me a little while to get into the swing of it.

drron, I think I'm old enough to be their cool, marginally older course mate

Yeah... Roosters just hung on to scrape home 20-18.

TAB had the Bulldogs at $1.35 favourites!

Without seeing the odds and considering the Roosters had 3 (Pearce, Maloney, Jennings) out due to Origin and the Bulldogs had 2 (Reynolds, Morris), I figured that the Bulldogs might be slight favourites but $1.35 was very short... Anyway, hindsight is a great thing!

Well at least with the BA lounge catering changeover stuff-up they've got something right...

Loud mouthed obnoxious person in the AMS Galleries lounge tonight. Wonder if he realises no one thinks he is important........ oh, I know a good deal also, now, about what work he does and who for. A few choice words come to mind ;)

Very good advice. However I hope to work hard - IMO it is important when new (to both the work place and especially work force) to work hard and provide an example that one can be trusted to complete all tasks + more.

Don't worry.. We all suffer from this....
On the tube a lady was screaming out loud to her partner/family/friends over the gap. A Dutch (or German.... Not sure) lady told her in a very aggressive tone to shut up and join her companions.

You'll soon find out the reality of this.. is rather the opposite ;)

This one is for JohnK..... flight home tonight, left on time and landed 20 minutes early.
