I tried Virgin for a while. Too inconsistent. Would drop out quite a lot and everytime it dropped out I had to restart the application again to get connection, not just hit connect. Sometimes I had to reboot.I am on Virgin (MVNO on Optus). I cannot complain for the price I pay ($19/mo, 2.25gb data, $450 of calls, unlimited virgin2virgin calls/text/mms and free voicemail). But if I were paying $60-$80 per month for the same I would be feeling a little ripped off.
I had 3 Mobile broadband for more than 2 years and they were shocking. There were many websites such as IHG I could not access.
Now Optus has been OK but they are almost unusable in Sydney. On the train down Brisbane-Gold Coast almost impossible to use. They are not too bad in my hotel room in Brisbane.
Just because someone pays less for a service does not mean they should not receive continuous internet access.
