Exactly how I developed my bulge!

It's so annoying to be out of pocket due to someone else's coughpy driving. That was a few weeks ago but first time I've noticed the bulge, and I've been doing freeway trips into the city for the last few weeks. Last thing I need is a high speed blow-out.

I have a spare tyre. Or a bulge.

They're kind-of the same thing... ;-)

I watched Australia's Next Top Model the other night. No spare tyres there but the girls found out on an obstacle course that skinny doesn't always mean fit.

You are not the first and you will certainly not be the last.

I started playing golf with a friend back in 1983. He is of a much smaller build than me (not that this is relevant) but I was the much better golfer although he was competitive occasionally. Towards the end of the 80's he was driving along in his RX7 when this smacked out bird drove through a stop sign and took him out. His car was written off, he spent a few days in hospital and his shoulder has never been the same and his golf with it. She had no insurance. Nothing.

Unfortunately that is life and as a society we feel sorry for the smacked out bird not the person whose life was ruined.

It is unfortunate you have a bulge in your tyre but there are people worse off and there is nothing they can do about it.

The other party having insurance is kinda irrelevant. In my case, the other party will have no insurance even though he is insured. But my insurance will repair my car and then take its own steps to recover the money. Lack of insurance becomes their problem and I'm paying them a lot of money to deal with that problem.

This current accident is the second in 2 years. Rear right side was run into last year. But my previous accident before last year was 1993! My insurance company has got their pound of flesh out of me.

If there was a brightside then I would certainly try and look out that side. Positives are few and far between.

I know it is out of my control but I can't laugh off every single incident. It feels like I am someone's puppet and my life is meant to be miserable.

JohnK I sometimes worry about you. I know you sometimes vent but lately you have been more negative lately?

Help me out with a debate. I was chatting to someone and said they would likely be blocked from taking a children's scooter onboard a flight ex-uk. My reasoning was that it would be declared a sporting good and thus be similarly banned as tennis rackets and cricket bats are. Certainly they share some attributes. It isn't listed as banned as carry on though.

Do you agree?

mIght be banned from going on board, just depends how each crew interprets what a scooter is.
Personally I think the scooter will not be brought abroad as it is a sporting equipment.

It's a bit more than unfortunate; if I hadn't noticed and suffered a blowout on the freeway, I could have killed myself, or someone else. Just because some tosser in a fancy BMW decided stop signs weren't applicable to him. And knowing that I'm about to lose my job, forking out $$ for someone else's stupidity bites.

Don't worry too much.

I am OK. Life seems to be paying me back a lot more right now for past sins and unfortunately recently this had an effect on my mother who along with dad I care about the most in the world. She is back and in good spirits and I am proud of the way she handled herself in a foreign country when the chips were down.

Week 7 in the west although last night I was in Brisbane to catch up with some school friends. I had hoped that another event would occur on the same day but another day was chosen, oh well back to Brisbane in 2weeks. Flying Virgin in row 3 meant that this would give me a chance to read a book I downloaded ages ago, the Happiness project. One line from the book, our days are long but the years are short, a very true statement catching up with high school friends. During the week I caught up with thewinchester and ozbeachbabe. The last time I met up with twcau was in Sydney 2years ago when the Sydney boat show was on, did I mention about the years being short.
Currently back at the airport heading off to Perth which could be the last time in the Qantas business lounge on my own economy ticket. Will Qantas extend the love to me for another year as Platinum.

Apologies if I made it sound like your situation is not serious.

Hope everything works out for you.

This is where I am right now.
Lombok Indonesia. Sweet. :)ImageUploadedByAustFreqFly1375004846.965437.jpg

I can't win. Hire car rear ended by some stupid young girl. Did I mention how much I hate Adelaide drivers.

Still we were in a massive traffic jam because the police had closed main south road because of an accident. So well glad we weren't in that accident. As it must have been extremely bad.

C'mon food, hurry up! I've got a train to drive soon! At least the hot dogs in the VA lounge don't take 30 minutes to cook!

All good. Found somewhere that was open today to have a new tyre fitted. Was told based on the cracking I was very close to the tyre failing, all it would have needed was to warm up... Not as expensive as I'd feared either, downside of a car fitted with "performance" tyres...

You haven't won a trick this weekend, have you? I hope there's no drama with the hire company!

Yikes, you are not having a good run.

Well I'm expecting them to take the $3000 excess. Then I'm expecting to fight to get it back, being not at fault. But no one injuried, just sore backs and such, so that's kinda ok.

Edit: thank you earth black rental vehicle excess insurance. Phew! :D
