Re: More silly questions

Explain your interpreted difference (or lack thereof) between the following terms (in the context of flights):

leg, sector, route, routing

Re: Some silly and survey questions (just to kick this thread around)

Random, probably silly questions, to fill up some posting space here. Some are 'survey' like questions. I just didn't want to post them in the "silly questions" thread.

Feel free to answer any or all.

  1. Tea, coffee or neither? If something, how do you have it?
  2. "You're saying that my checked baggage is 15 kg and my carry-on is 12 kg and you're telling me I have to transfer 5 kg out of my carry-on into my checked baggage?? What's the difference? It's all going on the same plane and it's all the same weight!"

An oft spouted remark, especially from my dad. Discuss and debate.
  3. Copenhagen, Stockholm, Helsinki, Oslo, Reykjavik.
Rank them in priority order of visiting (from most desired to visit down to least desired to visit).
  4. LHR {T1, T2, T3, T4, T5} ; LGW {South, North} ; LCY ; LTN ; STN.
Of all of those, which have you visited?
  5. What is your favourite airline which is not a main member of any of the three major global alliances (i.e. Sky Team, Star Alliance or oneworld)?
  6. For a free Economy ticket good for domestic travel up to 1200 miles, would you be an FA for a flight in the SYD/MEL/BNE triangle?
  7. Why are flights to/from MEL always turbulent?
  8. Have you been to AVV? If so, why did you do it?
  9. Have you ever been on a now-retired JQ Boeing 717?
  10. What is your standard breakfast from the Domestic QP breakfast offering? (Note this is the standard "lowly" QP, not the JL)

1. Coffee black no other additive.
2. I have trouble lifting even 7 kg into the o/head.
3. Copenhagen, Stockholm, Oslo, Helsinki, Reykjavik
4. LHR T2 (before there was a T3), T4, T5
5. None of the above
6. Are you mad?
7. Hot air
8. Been past it once. I plead insanity.
9. Yes, MEL-HBA as QF
10. Toast and juice, but I try to avoid flying that early.

It is not the end of the world. Just think of all the time you will spend planning how to get back to Platinum again. ;)
True.

The QF WP planning will have to wait a month or so as all I'm planning at the moment is how to move house before Christmas :!:

If arriving at the train station early the train is almost always late.
If arriving at the train station on time, or a little late, the train has almost always left already....

Ahh, so you catch the same train as me...

Geeze, what happened? Did Murphy catch you in bed with his wife?

... only when you arrive early, then it's normally cancelled!

Daniel, I think we have had this conversation before. Do no listen to anyone that tells you otherwise. I have never seen, or met, anyone with quite the bad luck that is even remotely close to mine. And if anyone thinks I have an abundance of wealth, health and happiness then you are sadly mistaken. If I wake up in the morning and only 5-6 body parts hurt then it is a good day. Not whinging, I have come to grips with expecting the unexpected.

After I posted on this thread I left work earlier as I was not feeling well. The 3:09pm train left on time. I got to the train station at 3:18pm and the 3:24pm did not arrive until 3:40pm and that is 2 days in a row my train has been over 15 minutes late. It morphed into a Bowen Hills only service instead of Caboolture. Oh, and I got soaked at Central again. I should learn and permanently carry an umbrella with me.

This also extends to career, golf course (I have never experienced anything like it in my life), airports and flights and general decision making. Oh well, maybe in the next life time or after life whichever you believe....

I think that must have been his previous life. :?:

I was very lucky when I visited the UK recently. I didn't have any train trouble; I just walked up to the station just as one was waiting, oh yeah I should do a trip report, not of the train part.

A sad day for me.
Officially dropped from QF Platinum to QF Gold

Oh well such is life, I hope you enjoyed it while it lasted and made plenty use of the First Class Lounge.

With or without a surcharge

No surcharge when people pay me with Amex as our merchant fees is almost the same for Visa and Mastercard; some promotion Amex have got going. Sorry don't sell beer.

Most interesting discussion for an off topic thread; I can understand why I come to this web site first.
