Mrsbuzzard & I went to P J O'Briens East End, Radelaide on Friday night. T Bone, Chips + Salad for $10. Sauce $2 extra. Pint of 'Kenny $5.00.
The steak certainly wasn't the best but then what do you expect for a tenner? Overall we enjoyed ourselves.
Better steaks up the road at The Stag, around the $25 mark I think.

You sure that was after we adopted decimal currency, Mal?There were two pubs in Brisbane that I used to attend on some Sundays. The Jubilee and the Fox. Both had steak specials - Normally $2 when you purchased a drink. Sauce tended to be $2 and chips were either $1 or $2.
Another place - The Elephant and Wheelbarrow also had Sunday food specials. Most importantly they had pints for $5.
Not sure if any of those specials still exist!
one way or another...I'll pay that....
What about 'slapper'?
Absolutely. Don't think she would last very long though.

Being a part time Eastender we have words like suffink and anyfink and fanksalot.
Quite different language to other parts of London but it may be a little watered down by a surge in European workers behind counters.
Is it wrong to use the word "slag"?
....
Chips at Cabarita, not a bad way to relax back into the friendlier temperatures up here!
Also 'aks' instead of 'ask'
The wind would blow the dogs off their chains down here in MEL also today. The chips might end up at Circular Quay if they were being eaten outdoors due to the strong winds.
