The totally off-topic thread

A large number if these recent posts are bang outta orda. Some people need to sling ya hook.

:D :D The fact this thread is still going (and holds the record for the longest continuously running thread) is doing my head in. Now I need a cuppa (because that fixes everything in Eastenders)...

IMHO Brekky Creek is over rated and also over priced

Had a steak there yesterday and happy to report they did a good job. Been a while since I'd had one there and they did a good job, so I was happy to part with my money this time.

I have certainly seen Breakfast Creek's prices creep up and the quality creep down in recent years.

However, the steak I had on Saturday was excellent. I paid $40 and had it with chips.

Bearing in mind you've often advocated that societies dress standards are slipping, is this not a classic case where (wear!) the individual has met your requirements? you should be pleased by them.
Not pleased at all. I could not believe what I was hearing. It was only later that I saw what she was wearing.

I feel dess standards have slipped and along with them common decency seems to have gone as well.

There is something seriously wrong if a young lady speaks like that in public.

Doing some research for upcoming trip - what a bummer :(

Maybe they should have lifted the ticket price to assist in the sequestration process;)

[h=1]Tours & Events[/h]Due to staffing reductions resulting from sequestration, we regret to inform you that WhiteHouse Tours will be canceled effective Saturday, March 9, 2013 until further notice. Unfortunately, we will not be able to reschedule affected tours.

We very much regret having to take this action, particularly during the popular Spring touring season. Please check this webpage for updates regarding this situation, or contact the White House Visitors Office 24 Hour Hotline at (202) 456-7041.

Been using it sine the mid 90's - it has had better days.

Simple fact is it's handy to the Airport.

Norman's "The Worlds Worst Vegetarian" restaurant is generally better, but it's maybe 20-25 minutes more travelling time each way.

My insurance company is doin' my head in.

Home and contents at $1542. So I do a quote, list everything the same as best I can, with the only uncertainty being personal cover for unspecified items. But I assume that is included since I did specify items. Quote says $1133. Even if the specified/unspecified items are not included adding the premium for those items from the current insurance bill gets me to $1443.

Ok mid-confusion, I've just realised they don't have my alarm included. No wonder the quote was so wrong....

Edit: So the alarm is worth $30 a year. Playing with the quote system says one of the handbags and increase contents is worth $33 a year. The other two handbags have a value about the same as that first handbag so $6 a year in insurance. Still $30 over what the online quote seems to suggest.

I blame the pub duopoly.... Place hasn't been the same since it was bought out by wesfarmers/Coles.

The Norman is owned by the same mob as the Brekky Creek, or somehow associated. It's certainly a more pleasing set up.

Was in the early days but since the 80s both have been owned by different companies, although Cavills had a lease on the Bc for a while. Now ALH own BC while the Norman is owned by the Indpendant pub group.

We were down there a couple of weekends ago....two dinners and two breakfast.

Dinner

Spice Temple - really good Spice Temple Melbourne very busy!

Il Bacaro - beautiful Il Bacaro

Breakfast

Issus Cafe & Bar - bare bones classic "Melbourne Lane" style dining....chock a block full of ambience and people.

The European - best baked eggs I've ever eaten  Lovely old style setting European Menu :: The European Restaurant Spring Street Melbourne well worth the visit.

Well I managed to book Il Bacaro and Rockpool in the end so we'll see how they go, I reckon Rockpool is going to be overpriced but its not like I'm eating there every night.

Cavs at Labrador was also owned by the Cavill family at some stage

Lovely food........pick of the night for me :-

spaghettini con cicale di mare, aglio, “olio visadi” e rucola
Spaghettini with Moreton Bay bugs “olio visadi”, garlic, chilli and rocket

The Sommelier selected a great bottle to wash it all down with :D

Enjoy!
