Really peed off with Qantas at the moment.
ADL to NTL is QF to MEL then JQ to NTL which is fine BUT you need to collect your baggage and check in again. Why???
You can change between QF and CX which is a totally different airline and and not have to double handle your bags so why can't QF do it with Jets..t ???
So it looks like I might be a Virgin flyer. And it only costs $208 (bring your own cut lunch) where QF want $253.
But then I miss out on the lounge, points, SC What to do??? Aaaaaagh:evil:

Sweet, $45 lunch!

Of course, at Aussie airports, that really buy a three day old sandwich and a lukewarm water....

IWe now have insurance with two new companies, and saved close to a four figure number. Fed up being taken for granted and a ride, when there's no aircraft involved.
Insurance companies dont want you to shop around.

Considering what it costs to acquire a new customer they try to recoup all those costs via the renewal.

So considering how difficult it is to acquire a new customer you would think they would do anything to keep that customer? Nope. Unless of course you call to cancel policy at which point they tried to retain you.

I was with NRMA for a long time and hardly ever looked at renewal other than to make sure the increase was not too significant.

Not anymore....

QF now codeshares with Brindabella on SYD-NTL. Can you book ADL-SYD-NTL, or is that stupid pricing?

Cheapest is $373 with a 3 hour wait in SYD, $403 with a 4 hour wait or via BNE for $478 so it is getting stupid.

Also want to get to Newcastle promptly to see brother in law - in hospital, really starting to look like the worst news but where there is life there is hope. BIL seems to have resigned himself to the fact (fiction?) that he is not going home and has asked another BIL who is a funeral director to measure him up. At least he hasn't lost his sense of humour.

Ahh, thought it might be silly money.
Best regards to you and the family and hope everything works out for the BIL.

Another $20 /week rent increase and I am about to sign another lease in Brisbane.

Good thing there is a mistake on lease and is valid for 10 months not the usual 12 months.

Am I ever going home? Or am I stuck in 1986 indefinitely?

Take the day off tomorrow to give it a good think ;)

That just means they can put up the rent cost again in 10 months time rather than 12 ... may not have been a mistake ;)

With 3 or 4 hour waits, surely the train syd to ntl starts to look ok?

Got a supplier telling me that we need a new service contract, despite having a current paid up contract and them not providing any service. (long story) The new 12 month contract they send for signature had a start date in 2011.

Yep a copy of the 2011 contract without changing the date.

For all the aviation people that are now in my industry at my Place of Employment & aviation inspired things. it would have been handy if I had a checklist or a QRH today with the information I needed that I didn't have.

Luckily we were asked if we wanted to work and take a day off down the track.

Guess which I chose? ;)

There are lots of mistakes on the lease agreement. I think it was done by the junior and not proof checked. I am not going to mention it to them as I may want out a little earlier and this is perfect opportunity.

Flights booked through to end of March 2014.

IMHO nothing makes the train commute from SYD-NTL look ok, 5 minutes of picturesque scenery through the Hawkesbury wrapped around ~ 3 hours of frequent stopping at empty stations in the oldest carriages city rail can still use. The main hospital is also a taxi or bus ride from the nearest train station.

1998, they held the lease for 70 years but never owned it.

Yes, that's why I said "ran". I have a sibling named for a Cavill, who is their godparent. :)
(I also knew it was sometime after my 21st, but couldn't remember exactly when. We bought the beers from the Creek and also IIRC rented glassware for the event)

Can't decide what qualifies more as spam mail: "Quality election", or the same title except replace the 'l' in the second word with 'r'........
