The totally off-topic thread

If I had to give a FB status between my brain & I at the moment, it would be "It's Complicated."

I've never had a flu shot and also never had the flu. My husband developed the flu once (the real flu, bed ridden for 10 days and couldn't stand up to save himself) and he now always get the shot. He hasn't had the flu since.

I do have an over active immune system though. Damn near killed my thyroid!

apparently you can still get the flu... but your symptoms 'supposedly' much milder.
If that is the case then it suits me fine.

I used to take ~1 week off work each time I had the flu. I do not remember having a day off due to flu in the past 14 years and hope that continues for the rest of my life.

I have had a flu jab most years, but never seem to tell whether it does any good or not. I guess I will keep having them.

Didnt have the jab this year, and have been sick about six times since April. Granted, not the flu, but it's been one long cold that keeps rearing its ugly head. Had the jab last year and was sick all of twice all year.

I have to admit never (at least to my knowledge) have had the flu shot.

That said, I guarantee that at least once a year I get the flu. This year it happened twice, unusually, though one episode shorter than the other.

I've never had it either, but I was at the Dr today and they were giving them out like candy... so thought, heck, why not! :D

The joy of doing bus tours, too - someone gets it .. everyone gets it  been there, done that!

Away for a bit over the next weeks, though I'll be around mid > late NOV.
Drinks, sure.. whenever time avails.:D
Would be a treat to organise an OOL event.
Cheers.
Sounds good. Will more than likely be late November on a Saturday night. I shall start a meeting thread once I have booked my accommodation.

Can only blame one on the bus, a few girls bought it with them from France and were nice enough to share. Still got the cough. In the space of two months earlier in the year I had it three times.... Had about a week of feeling good before it kicked back in.

Ahh .. !! Those French ....... !! ;)

Sure.. Except 30th November = AFF#7 .
Roger that. It will be the week before. ;)

Actually not much choice as the week before I do not have any flights booked to Sydney and I need to fulfill the IHG Win Big requirements.

Love-hate relationship? ;)

Dunno. Some people might call it depression but I don't feel depressed. Don't feel like doing some things or interacting with some people. It could be a case of can't be bothered.

I call it lack of motivation. Not quite depression but close.

See if the 2nd round of club championships tomorrow morning adds some excitement to my life....

In some areas of my life, you're 100% right. Then again, just because I liked something or someone in the past doesn't mean I have to now.

Erkpod I will be riding the trains in Sydney every day next week so I am hoping for seats that are not upholstered planks.
I find the trains to be interesting and I wish passengers would take their litter with them when they de-train.
Each day I take the train I save about $150 compared with using a driver to get out to Western Sydney so I use the trains.

Is it quicker to take the train or drive.

OMG watching sunrise on TV and photo's of the bushfires are just devastating.

hope all is good for member on the forum.

Sometimes it's quicker with the limo driver but you miss the rich tapestry of life.
Generally I am going west when every man/woman are heading east and then at night I am heading east so the traffic snarls are on the other side of the motorway.

If you're going to/from the airport in the afternoon, think of me. Ironically I live in western Sydney but it's not in my normal area of operation on weekdays.

As for the seats, that depends what sort of train you're on. The older ones are generally better in that regard. There's a fine line between pleasure & pain. They've had to increase the toughness of the seat but that's also meant the seats are harder.
