A little walking every day will help, I'm sure.
I'm ashamed to say that back in 2001, I was approaching/topping 130kg. It was the result of 15 years of living in construction camps (working as management, not labour, but eating like the real workers), and not enough self control in The Mess.
Then, in late 2001 I was diagnosed Type 2 diabetic. Big wake up call. I started walking - worked my way up to 10km/day, 6 days a week. Dropped 25kg in 18 months. Worked off another 10kg between 2009-11 using a not-insanely strict version of Atkins - minimise the carbs, and sugars. But fell off the wagon with a couple of overseas trips and had crept up to 105kg by June - but now I am responsible for all my own meals and the food shopping, it's a lot easier to make sure there is no cough food in the house, and my portions are much better controlled (it's easier not to put the food on the plate, than it is not to eat the food aleady on the plate).
I just do 20-30 mins a day, walking at 6km/hr. That, and zero junk food/small portions, is shedding about 1kg a week for me right now.
This weekend, the soon-to-be-ex-wife reposesses the treadmill I was given for my birthday, so I'll have to start going outside and actually walking for my 4:30am exercise from next week!
Good luck with your own challenge, Major.
