The one thats energised at -210V to complement the fourth (+420V) sitting outside the normal pair. No pantographs on the roof.

Thats very trainspotterish of you, markis10... (it's 600-750V BTW, depending on whether you are LUL or ex-Southern... but close enough!)

When I read here the times some people take to get to work I'm glad I live in ADL.
7 or 8 km from CBD, drive to North Terrace in about 20mins, surrounded by bush.
Have to be careful of the odd Kangaroo on the road and koalas can keep you awake with their grunting.
When I tell people we have about 1600sqm of land and in 12 years I haven't even stepped on at least half of it, that it's a bit odd but we leave that half of the land to the brown snakes!

Sounds like where I used to live. We will have to compare notes.

Some days are best spent in bed.

Findwide has somehow managed to install itself on my laptop with AVG anti-virus and has hijacked everything. :( And topictorch. :(

All I tried to do was install Flash Player and VLC media Player. Some human beings are scum bags....

Relax? LOL!

And what reason would that be? You are saying because it is public people do not have to behave?

Cant wait for teleporters. Love to see people using there iPods then....

I am saying with vast experience that many people do not behave because it is public transport. Some do, however, expect the convenience of their own transport without providing it themselves. In Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane & (probably) Perth, we've reached the point that in the peak hours, you should not expect a seat in the peak direction. However, many people expect it & act accordingly. When you buy a ticket on a commuter railway, you are not reserving a seat like some people expect.

Indeed. All electric trains in Australia receive their electricity from overhead wires (in my case, 1500V DC) into a pantograph (collector) into the train.

Overhead, but not always from wires. There's a section of track in Perth that has a solid conductor rail overhead....

Where's that? I haven't been to Perth for some time - I think I might wait until all the re-construction is finished in the CBD.

Still waiting to find out if I have a job after Friday; this is becoming a regular occurance around here....

Sorry to hear.. Same sad uncertain scenario for many Qantas employees as well, whilst the 'insulated" management play games of human chess.

/1st world problems/

1. New 3 class 744 switched to old 3 class so sky slope for me tomorrow - at least I got row 16 but lose my 5J.

2. Dreamtime 763 with A seat selected gets switched for 2-2-2 config - at least it's a 1hr flight.

The Melbourne Herald Sun has its priorities very wrong. The majority of the front page is taken up with football (vs GMH 40%).

When the London Underground was first built they used sleepers made from Jarrah, sent from WA

Watching the morning TV.

It is all about AFL and Holden...

Thank goodness the NRL is not getting a mention

I live about that distance from the Adelaide CBD and it takes me about 4 hours to get to work, on Monday. ;)
