If you want to get a variety of answers about an acronym stands for, ask a room full of train drivers in Sydney what WOLO stands for.

They know the intent but not the historics behind it.

Lucky for me that I'm in a somewhat AC room, standing by.

So, it's been over 40 for the last three days in Adelaide but the news is only about Sydney's heat today.

It is 40°C but I've just spotted a fellow crew member wearing a jumper!!!!!

But it's a short sleeved jumper that's ok, I guess! :p

If it doesn't happen in Sydney, it doesn't happen!

Now where have I heard that before

Yep. I'm just worried about our neighbours gum tree which is currently dropping bark and small branches across our backyard. The wind is a high easterly. The noise of stuff crashing into our pergola is freaking out our cat.

I'm just hoping all the Christmas turkey, hams and foodstuff purchased this morning won't be spoiled. :(. Anyone know a safe time limit for no refrigeration? House is hot after three days of 40+.

All I can suggest is avoid opening the refridgerator if at all possible.

I agree.

If your fridge has good seals it will remain quite cool for several hours without power...

While many of you are now on vacation, I am still at work, and will be for several hours yet :( :(

Pleasant and Brisbane in the same sentence. Now there is something you rarely see.
But its always pleasant here - constant 24 degrees maximum :). Very pleasant unless I have to step outside into the heat and humidity

Do you have a chest freezer you could pop the items into?
