Tread carefully my young padawan.

It's not as though either of us are going to move around the other side of the world. I've sent her a message to let her know I'll be in NYC & am awaiting her response to that.

I should have just put NYC on the list on the first place.

Sister lays down a problem. (Not "problem" as in, "Houston, we've got a problem..." but more like, "Here's a maths / sudoku / crossword problem")

Basically, she's got a friend who wants to go to Europe with her soon-to-be-hubby for their honeymoon. So naturally she says, "If you know anything good going to Europe in mid-June for a month, feel free to let me know." Stopovers preferable.

No real indication of Y, W, J... or budget.

Don't mind a challenge and jumped onto ITA to do a bit of scouting.

Not asking for any flight assistance here, but how would you (generally) approach the same problem? Or rather, for those of you who are married and had a honeymoon overseas, what was your motivation and thoughts on budgeting?

(P.S. for those who will say, "$2500 J return on US DM; you're welcome..." or similar - no. They have no US, no AA, no AV....)

My answers would be,

They need to ask themselves,
1. What is the budget.
2. Where would you like to stop over, South East Asia, North Asia, or Middle east.
3. Webjet, see what is going cheap, I recommend sticking to the majors, then go to that individual website to book or use a travel agent who can put a package together that includes flights/accommodation and shows.
THE END.

Post 8 in this thread still has me intrigued.

I was intrigued that you mentioned it, so I looked it up.
It is an intriguing post.
However I am intrigued that it still has you thinking about it .

Heatwave for Melbourne this week.

Nope. THIS is a heat wave

I am in Adelaide, Melbourne and Singapore this week - I think Singapore will be the coolest !!!

Although with my pasty white complexion it is sometimes good that I have a job which is predominantly inside in the safety of air conditioning, etc...

I feel very lucky to have been to three fantastic AFF events in the past 2 months.

  • AFF#7 in Hobart, organised by JessicaTam, samh004 and me (sort of).
  • The train trip from Sydney to Canberra organised by BAM1748 was an awesome day!
  • The Rockford wine tasting organised by Buzzard yesterday was something special, especially for an aspiring wine [-]connoisseur[/-] drinker like myself!

The bar has been set very high for future AFF events!

I had to Google it too. It just seems such a pathetic thing to do. Not the actual drinking but the excitement just because someone tags you. I don't get it.

Wait til JohnK logs on. :p
I still dont get it.

I would have liked to have attended at least 1 of the 3 but living in WA it is just a bit far.

How is the bank balance looking.:p

Don't worry JohnK, tomorrow they will have moved on to another stupid thing to post on Facebook. I just wish selfies would disappear. I loathe them.

As a solo traveler, I don't have the luxury of giving my camera or phone to my SO so they can take a photo of me doing something or posing in front of something. I'd be screwed without the selfie. Selfies have been around for a while but not always was called that.

So if these ideas are stupid why do people keep doing them? Boredom?

By the way I have been taking photos of myself with mobile phones for a long time for my own benefit. No need to plaster them all over the internet.
