How is the bank balance looking.:p

It's okay. The expense claim which [-]my PA[/-] I screwed up last month should get paid on the 15th, so that is good :)

Apart from the occasional indulgence, I have been pretty well behaved for the past 2-3 weeks.

I guess I never want photos of me in them. Except for the rockpool lunch. :p. And me being in a photo would spoil a landscape I wanted to see.

Don't worry JohnK, tomorrow they will have moved on to another stupid thing to post on Facebook. I just wish selfies would disappear. I loathe them.

Down at Mooloolaba for New Years Fireworks and there was many a selfie taken with the fireworks in the back ground.

I despise having my photo taken, utterly hate it. So the idea of me taking a selfie is repulsive.

Sure. But If it was me I'd just have the fireworks. It isn't about me it's the fireworks.

I have my moments. A glass of sparkling usually sorts that out. I guess I just prefer not to be part of the scenery. :p

Trying to convince work to give me back annual leave I didn't take. Its a never-ending saga. My boss has already approved my holiday so it'd be nice to have some leave available.

I love being part of the scenery!

I dont like people taking my photo and posting it on the internet without my permission. :-|

I once saw a corner of a hard sided roller bag come out complete with wheel attached once, didn't see the rest of it or the aftermath!

This is a result of my EK J AKL - MEL flight in Saturday night. Stupidly didn't say anything to baggage at the airport. Not sure if it's even worth claiming...

Let me guess; you were in a hurry?

Worth trying to call the airline and try and get a DMR, even if you have to take it back to the airport for inspection.

On the other hand, if the bag is inexpensive enough, or it's done its time, and it may not be worth your time, then it's off to the bag store for you! :)

Last flight our honeymoon...about the last thing I wanted to do at 9pm on a Saturday night. It was cheapy and nothing special for sure but this was only it's 3rd OS trip!

Those wheels (and they are on my case too) just ask to be ripped off though, don't they!

Some of the bags we have at home, the wheels are "built in" (rather than "bolted on") to the case (if that makes any sense), so they are quite shielded and minimises the chance of their being a lever target for being ripped off and causing damage. (Yes, naturally I have one of those bags which doesn't wheel in all directions).

At least a rip like hummel's should be easy to claim (the bag casing has been impacted, which clearly compromises the bag's primary purpose of use). If a wheel just came off or damaged without causing damage to the case, it may be much more difficult to file a claim. When the agent who handles your claim is a contractor rather than the airline itself, multiply that difficulty by a factor of n.

not always the airlines fault.A tad too much in a bag-

Did this just split open (or rather, you found it had split open when you claimed it)?

It's rather fascinating to see when this happens. I've stuffed my bag many a time; oh how I do not envy the stretched stitching as I'm pushing down on my bag and forcing the zip up. It has never split open, however, and I also don't use baggage strapping.

Sometimes - especially when you're on a long trip or on the other side of the world with still journeys to go - what do you do in a case (pun intended) when you've got "too much"?

It came out on the carousel like that. Were flying DFW-LAX-BNE.Shopping is good in Dallas.

I have a golf bag which has a club cover on top. The airline has ruined more than 1 of these to date.

The golf bag is still in good condition and a friend gave me another brand new club cover before last trip Boxing Day. Luggage was delayed by MH last week and finally received my golf bag but club cover now has holes in it and the zipper is broken. End result is club cover is useless.

Short of trying to fix zipper I need to buy another golf stand bag and the cheapest I have seen is ~AUD85 for the same type of bag.

Looks like a claim to MH for another golf bag but not sure I will get very far.

Travel insurance is hopeless as excess is AUD200....

I have just started getting calls for a Brisbane IT support desk.Everyone is surprised how quickly they answer until I tell them I really cant help.
