Damn Burnside area..... another blackout. It's been 40 minutes now. And just as the tennis was getting interesting.

Still, the lap top is going and there is always AFF

I think you can watch the game via the Australian Open website.

Didn't all the desk moving happen a while ago? Is it an annual sport where you work?
It happens very regularly.

Management, sitting in offices, think it is a good idea to move the natives around before they get too comfortable and are too productive.

A couple of articles you would like about office seating.
I have worked in open plan offices for the majority of my working life and know they are a deterrent on productivity. Management is fixated on the idea though.

The latest move was so the 2 teams are seated together. Nothing to do with productivity but so the leaders can look outside and see where their team are on any given day.

I am OK. I have a quiet room that most people know is mine. It is a hassle when people from other parts of the company come and sit there for the day.

I am getting too old for this.

I don't know where to sit ???

This is the F section of CX lounge at YVR. Just driven back from Whistler and going to HKG today.

Power still out here...... I think I'll call it a night

Edit to add: Just checked SA Power Networks website - power expected to be restored at 2300hrs.

2300 hours in SA - yep, that's just when the Tennis finished here. Partner stayed up to watch and woke me up when it was over. :(

I took this flight a couple of years ago, It was an A340 and follows a really interesting route over the Aleutians and Taiwan. There was no cloud and you could easily see Teipei 101

Quite the conundrum. I suggest you put your personal effects on as many chairs as possible and bark "I'm sorry that is taken" to anyone that comes near them ;)

Which one provides better views of the tarmac? Or which ones have power points next to them?

Reality is my experience. Most of Brisbane shuts down early weeknights. Fact not opinion.

Woolworths DFO only recently started operating 24 hours. Some Woolworths are open until 9:00pm but many close earlier.

Lunch in Brisbane starts early and finishes early. Same for dinner.

Those wooden houses are ugly and they are everywhere.

Brisbane is vastly inferior to Sydney in every way. About the only thing that I can give some credit to Brisbane are the Busways.

A Woolworth's in BNE that closes before 9pm only on weekends.

I live on the Sunny Coast and there is 3 Woolworths within 20 minutes of us and they all close at 9pm. Maleny, Beerwah and also Woodford as well.

If you hate BNE so much why don't you just move back to SYD.

Spoke to a friend from Hong Kong last night (who was in a dubious bar in Tokyo) about the weather in NYC and took bets on whether his flight would be cancelled.

Perfectly normal for me, although others were probably more concerned with which wine to order next :p

Good question. I hope to be able to answer that one soon.

For the time being the perception is that money is most important. I can tolerate living here a little longer. How long? Time will tell.

I just had my best hot chips on the trip so far in from a Hawaiian place in downtown Portland OR.

More news on this breaking story at 11.... ;)
