I have heard similar, but then after the Vista experience.....
I hate Windows Vista Business.

My latest hassle is issues with the Qantas website loading. The home page with domestic and international specials and the booking options do not load, I think the website uses flash, quickly enough. The only way I can look and book flights is to get to the flights page, and this only partially loads, and then click on domestic or international flights.

Does anyone here use MySpace? What is it? Is it similar to Facebook?

MySpace was started and had a strong focus on teenagers in the early days - it was then bought by News Limited, and found a focus with musicians and goth bois/goth girls the world over.

Facebook was started by a guy at MIT (who supposedly ripped the idea off from his roommate). It's still owned by the same guy, and originally you could only sign up if you were a college student - now anyone can join.

MySpace has become decidedly passe recently, as people move to Facebook. The kids still seem to like MySpace, but Facebook is where the twenty-somethings and up seem to hang out.

There will be another social networking revolution eventually, with another site. There seems to be a large number of people being able to track people down on Facebook, which hasn't happened on previous sites, largely because they require you to have a real name on Facebook, not a profile name. There has been evidence of reporters using MS and FB to hunt down details on relative unknowns who suddenly spring to light in the media - think people named as prostitutes to politicians in the USA. That sort of stuff.

Best advice is don't sign up for it casually because everyone else is on board. Know what you're getting yourself into. And be warned - the content isn't easy to get back or remove once you post it.

I think I will have to resign on this one, so please consider this a notice of my non-attendance.

Hope everyone else present has a good time.

Drinks again; I am not sure if I can cope.

If I attend (and drink), it will spoil > 2 weeks of alcohol abstinence ! I'm definately a possible though.

-- Actually, just remembered I have a dinner at 7pm with some friends. Hmm. maybe can pop up after that, but may be too late.

Given the possible lack of quorum (understandable after the weekend's activities), I'm tempted to wimp out of climbing the ladder and just have a couple of drinks in the (temporarily relocated) executive lounge here at the Hilton. I wasnt intending to stay very long anyhow - I'm trying to look after this second-hand liver of mine.

Richard.

I should be good for March's effort. :) I assume Wed March 25?
Sounds as good as any other date.

I should follow your lead and not drink alcohol until the next drinks night and see how much weight I can lose....
