Dumb or what?...........

I have a 50% share in a self service cash business that runs 24/7 - we have 8 security cameras dotted around site recording all movements 24/7.

Couple 18yo kids decided they would souvenir 3 of our cameras and add to the collection of dozens of others they had pinched from other locations.

Coppers are called and view the footage - kids faces clearly visible as no attempt to cover them at all as they approached cameras - assessed degree of difficulty to remove - position ladder to get up high enough - go to work with their tools to remove - then bugger off

Ist copper says - I know that kid - that's so and so - look at his tattoo - other copper chimes in and his mate is other so and so - they are always in the mall at 10 to 11am so lets go grab them up - both in the slammer within 2 hours.

Good taste in video cameras though - the footage even showed the colours of their eyes - dickheads! Apparently CC video cameras worth way more in drug industry now than even stolen smart phones - buyers and sellers are mounting them all around their houses - coppers are laughing their heads off as they say biggest give away to finding houses that may house drug dealers / users / stashes is degree of video security adorning outside.

Yeah we are well insured and only real cost to us is time wasted but it's 3rd vandalism / theft type claim in last 12mths and policy will go up - again whole community eventually bears these costs - just more hidden costs of the hideous plague of drug culture which costing all of us.

Edit: I meant to add the really sad part about this type of thing is the actual destruction of young lives - a few bob here and there to us is nothing - but god if these kids only understand what damage they doing to themselves and their families.

In today's episode of death-wish dog we are in Melbourne's CBD where a pedestrian walked out in front of a fire truck which was clearly responding to an incident (with both sirens and lights). I am speechless...

Full respect to the driving skills of the MFB fire-fighter who was travelling at a safe speed and could stop well short of the stupid pedestrian, complete with a heavy ring of the engine's horn.

Sadly, I'm not really surprised.

The coppers will be disappointed when they visit my house then. :-)

I've never understood why drug dealers don't just buy the various bits of hardware and save that bit of aggravation and pointless attention.

Do we know the driver ;)

On the broken water pipe there will need to be quite a bit of flushing to get the dirt cleared out of the water supply.
The water may taste a bit secondhand.

It's Adelaide. Some naughty people here might say you wouldn't know the difference. .

Looks like there was a significant loss of water before it was turned off :o

Best wishes for tomorrow Pushka - what could possibly happen    (the cynic in me would say "go wrong")

Yes there was a gusher indeed. Mud all down the street. Earthquake? Won't be a flood. Meteor. Umm

Gah. It says WP on my iPhone when I edit but quotes Cove again. Silly App.

Yeah we are co

Probably used to the old analog CCTV that give you good silhouettes and not much else, the technology in the cameras has come a long way to the point where illuminators are not even needed in a lot of cases, and many cameras don't even look like cameras.

Following the very lenghty power outage and food toss out, it was a pleasure to get some really top customer service.

My one month old Google Nexus 5 has a fault. Rang a Sydney number which diverts to California. After the very helpfull operator tried to fix my phone by making some suggestions, he informed me that a replacement phone would be sent out, I am to use it + functions as much as possible for 5 days to ensure I am happy then call back and arrangements will be made for the return of my existing phone. None of this send us your phone and we will have a look at it business.
With service like that I'm glad I made my purchase from the Google play store.

Crunch time comes at the end of X months, unless you are churning 0% CCs. Hope the $20,000 released from CC payment is invested really well.

Invested the best way possible under the circumstances. I have kept the interest rate on my credit cards to 5.99% or less the past 3 years. The interest saved pays for some of my trips to Thailand.

My parents live in Adelaide...I was wondering why they haven't been online for the last 48 hours....rang this evening to find out....I should have read this thread as they have been without power the last 48 hours!! At least they borrowed a generator to keep both their fridges going!!

Oops. Grovelling required.

My son lives in Sydney. His friends in Adelaide were posting about the storm on Monday. He thought they were exaggerating.

I heard tonight that households without power for more than 24 hours will be reimbursed $370 under the service agreement.

I have just heard from my mother (who lives on the same side of town as Buzzard and Pushka) that she lost power for about 12 hours and a lot of big trees down in the neighbourhood. Other than that she is fine. Sometimes being on the other side of the planet can be frustrating. Thanks to the AFF member who offered to check in on her. (YKWYA)

Awww. That's nice of them.

I heard that Feathers Hotel has lost a lot of money over this as have many small food businesses. Even most of Burnside Village was affected.

I better drop in on the Feathers when I am there next to help them out!

Was there much damage caused by trees on Glynburn Rd?

As a child I loved the fact the trees shaded the road.
