Car chargers are great - make sure car out in open - full tank patrol and you could turn air on on and have a sleep. Brisbane floods I learn a lot!!

CBD is fine. We have cats so can't go away. A shower would be good though. Cup of tea. Cold milk.

Still, it could be much worse. My niece has been on evacuation standby for the last 24 hours because of bushfires. They have a young baby, two dogs and a cat.

Sorry to hear of your troubles! Very frustrating. My sister and children have had to evac their place in Perth too, so are currently at my parents place - also due to bushfire threats.

Too late for the Hilton Adelaide. EL has closed by now. Anyway, no more rooms available for tonight. :(

Please be ultra careful with candles about the place. They can burn your house down.

You know, I had exactly the same vision. Given the extent of the current blackouts (20,000 households) I just hope everyone is totally vigilant.

Now going to be without power for 28 hours. Not going to be fixed until 9 am tomorrow. Going to be 36 tomorrow. Making an insurance claim as things are already warming in the fridge and will be chucked out.

If you got some eskies, buy some ice if you need to save any meat.

I'm in a wintery Chicago where it is winter with a winter advisory in place. This post brought to you by Captain Obvious.

I don't know anyone they agree with.

There's several people at my Place of Employment where the originally quoted 0445 is a sleep-in.

I love the people who do Super Duper Early Mornings - them doing it means I don't have to.

The earliest sign on at my depot is around 0130 from memory.

No power still. 25 hours later. 34 temp for today. Sponging showers off relatives. I'm over it.

Just received a text. Power not back on until 4pm today. Which means it will be later than that as it's normally only refreshed in 3 hour batches.

Ouch - I've never had a blackout that long. I suppose you used what you could from the freezer until it was (health-wise) not feasible. Hope you didn't lose too much Pushka

It was like camping last night. Lanterns, food on the BBQ. Stopped at the local BWS on the way home to pick up some cold wine + bag of ice. Luckily for us the water is still hot. I'm surprised how long those water tanks keep water hot - even this morning a nice hot shower. If the power does not come back on till 4pm I think thats it for the freezer contents. Not worth making a claim as our excess is $600.

0130 is classified as night work for me. That means I sleep during the day.
