Well I am going to overindulge tonight.Rather than hijack simongr's thread I announce here that once again a grandfather-bouncing baby boy.
So tonight by tradition I am having a bottle of 74 Hill of Grace and then a 51 seppletsfield vintage port-I promise to finish both over the next couple of days.

drron,

Congratulations. It's fun isn't it. Last night we had to drive down the valley for an 8th birthday and it was well worth the effort.

Enjoy your grandson, he is precious :!:;)

Bill I couldnt agree more.I have never felt so contented since assuming this role.Fortunately I got very good practice as my partner's(as in business) 4 children regard us as grandparents. We go to grandparents day at school, holiday together and it is so satisfying. It is one of lifes greatest joys when their 16 yr old comes to me with all her problems-including maths which is getting harder and harder.
A brief update-the Hill Of grace has aged beautifully though i dont think i will leave the last bottle for too much longer.
The vintage port-nectar of the gods.I am glad I have a few more bottles of this. However I am now feeling totally relaxed so will take myself off to bed now.A very big day.
Once again congrats to simongr and steveperth-may your journey be as happy as mine.
At this time I am also so aware of the loss of garyjohn951-if you read this I have not forgotten and today just brings back to me your tragic loss.My heart goes out to you.

Congratulations drron and blessings to the proud parents and to the newborn boy.

So just how many bottles of 74 Hill of Grace and 51 Seppletsfield Vintage Ports have you consumed over your grandfatherhood? :)

Well I originally purchased 12 0f the 74 Hill of grace-only 1 left now.
6 of the 51 Seppeltsfield VP and sadly I just checked and only 1 of those left now-what I thought were 2 more bottles were actually a 62 and 65.I'll take a photo of the 3 full bottles just for you.Had I known you were into such things I would have brought down some empties(!) on the golf day.Sadly last weekend they were all disposed off and the recycle bin got emptied yesterday.

Thanks for the offer. Would be nice to see the photos, but I was more appealing to your quote

as in to imply the number of bottles consumed = the number of grandchildren you have. :D But that's just me being naive.

Can I just say I'm horified by the Terrorist action in Pakistan. No-one is ever immune, but I just cant see how it helps anyone's cause (no matter who is/was responsible).

I totally agree, and when it involves people in the spotlight like cricketers it makes you realise that nobody is really ever completely safe from fanaticism.
I note that Ricky Ponting and the aussie team have rightly condemned the attack.
Absolutely appalling.,the umpire Steve Davis talks about the van driver dying within feet of him.
Just awful.
