Damn, I do love my life sometimes - being courted by investment managers who do presentations in nice restaurants or hotels.

Today's menu and photos:

Damn, all right! It's 1 am and now I'm hungry again! Thanks, QF WP!!!
Might as well complete the picture: what did you choose from beverage menu? (or no drinkies as back to work?)

Even though I don't know everything about their systems & methods of working, based on my experience there's a lot of energy & forces involved to mount the platform & then go up that staircase the way that it has. It might be what is called an infrastructure initiated derailment but coming into a dead end, there's no way the train should be where it ended up.
Apparently you can make just about anything fly if you have enough momentum!

I am currently in the middle of moving factories for work. We have 2 weeks to go before finishing up here. I will never complain about moving house again.

Is the moving on the company's time (unless you are the company)?

Moving house everything is on you, so time spent moving (and effort) is your liability. If the company pays you for the time to move, that's a little bit better. Unless, of course, that means that report that was due on Monday is still due on Monday, despite a couple of days downtime.

It can be done :p;)
....

Locking away union members who misappropriate funds? Oh yeah.

Not sure about death foreshadowing a DPP.

Next time that bloke needs to be attached to the ship with a very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very long leash.

Company is me/family. I look after production/manufacturing so a majority of the move is falling to me. Fortunately the boss (Dad) is in the country at the moment so helping out. Got cranes coming in tomorrow to move the big machines and then wiring up over the weekend.

I just keep reminding myself it's worth it... currently work is 45min drive from home. In a few weeks it will be 7min drive/20min ride.

In true AFF spirit I have booked myself a GUM trip a few days after move is complete to get away from it all and just chill out by myself.

A short commute is awesome. It will be worth it.

I moved out of my apartment in September. I know it is not as bad as moving a factory or house and I didn't have furniture either but I don't want to go through that again.

i think the worst part is we're going smaller as the business is changing from manufacture locally to overseas. It will all be worth just need to push through the next few weeks.

My wife asked me if by moving closer to home I'll be home earlier... I told her it doesn't quite work like that.

Life is funny. No. Hilarious.

I dreamt I won $48,000 a couple of nights ago. It has been downhill since without any sign of a let-up.

Amazing the signals the mind is able to detect. And no I don't believe in coincidence.

So which AFFer is going to be the first to try this new airline-

I am not sure if this a bad thing, but I couldn't get their booking engine to work.

Try moving across country with furniture, it was good that I had airline status so I could take lots of luggage each trip.

I rented the first place for 6 months and I extended it for another 12 months so I don't have to move, although I do know that each move will be easier. I generally keep all the boxes for stuff that I buy. Although I had packed some books they are still in the box they arrived in.

Changing of business is tough, moving is easier but if you are changing your focus that means you have stuff that you probably don't need but it isn't worth just throwing it away. We had stock at our old place of work that wasn't really worth anything but kept it in the hope someone might need it. Same thing in the new place of work, there is a few stock items that had a value that really should be just thrown in the bin, usually older staff are the worst for keeping things.
