Try moving across country with furniture, it was good that I had airline status so I could take lots of luggage each trip.

I rented the first place for 6 months and I extended it for another 12 months so I don't have to move, although I do know that each move will be easier. I generally keep all the boxes for stuff that I buy. Although I had packed some books they are still in the box they arrived in.

Changing of business is tough, moving is easier but if you are changing your focus that means you have stuff that you probably don't need but it isn't worth just throwing it away. We had stock at our old place of work that wasn't really worth anything but kept it in the hope someone might need it. Same thing in the new place of work, there is a few stock items that had a value that really should be just thrown in the bin, usually older staff are the worst for keeping things.

Write it off as obsolete stock and reduce your tax liability.

What is wrong with this world?

Is it just me? Seriously? Anyone else feel harassed?

They have been playing musical chairs again in the office. You do this regularly to make sure the staff don't get too comfortable being productive. One of the leads is now sitting next to me and it is just constant interruptions.

But let's forget that for now. I went outside for 10-15 minutes and the settings of my chair have been changed to the point I cannot sit in chair. Why? The team lead has no idea who it was. OK, thanks.

Is there something wrong with me? Is there some game that has not been explained to me that I need to understand? Or should I just go home and avoid contact with morons?

Life shouldn't be this difficult.

It 2 foot long at least

Sounds like it is an OH&S issue to me. You would reasonably expect to sit in your seat without it being altered. Because it was done without your knowledge you may have injured yourself when returning and sitting down. Whoever did it has caused a safety hazard.

Raise it with your supervisor this way and ask that it be referred to the OH&S committee. Report it as a 'near miss' incident.

I reckon you'll get results very quickly.

I laughed out loud .... Thanks

I was suppose to quote ERKPOD's hotdog picture!

Think of Miami beach instead.

Bet they didn't offload his bag!

Considering that they didn't know where he was at the time & it was an intermediate port, I wonder if they would have or not. Because it wasn't the end of the cruise, he probably didn't have his room packed up & luggage ready to go as if he was deboating at the end of the cruise.

It has been written off for tax purposes, but sits on the shelf gathering dust reminding people of the bad purchasing decision that was made.

Yes, we have heaps of that kind of stuff in our warehouse too. Costs more to store it with zero book value, but too good to toss.

Hey, let's start an online store. We can call it cough_purchases_that_some_idiot_thought_was_a_good_idea.com.au

Actually we have a website address ready, surplus_crap.com.au _not with this name or that might give away too much.

Maybe that is why ebay.com.au exists but then the problem is that you don't have the staff member to look after it, when their time could be better used selling new things.

The problem is overseas purchases make it difficult to compete against when you don't have charges for GST imported goods under $1,000

Really? That is a relief. I thought it was just me.

I won't think of Miami Beach but I will be thinking about golf instead.

I hear you, but if you've already written it off, then it's going to be 100% margin. And I also understand that you need a dedicated employee to manage it, that's why our website will work if we pool our resources :)

If you're importing and selling directly, you should still be able to make margin even with GST, given that freight from o/s will add to online purchases. I am assuming direct purchase from factory.

They obviously didn't wait for the guy. I wonder how long they have to wait before they leave port one short?

It's not long, maybe an hour. They'll have the tide to worry about and also limited scope to make up time on the voyage. If they try to make up time the extra fuel burn will cost much much more than the pax's airfares.

If they are late arriving in the next port passengers may miss connections with all the financial aggravation that would cause.
