Well I'll be leaving New Orleans tomorrow.

If you get here, you MUST go to the 3D Imax cinema.. saw two mindblowing short films there today, one on Dinosaurs and one on ocean life.

Next stop Miami!

It is any different to seeing a movie at Imax in Sydney or Melbourne in 3D?

Of all of these, which ones have you been to before?
LHR: CDG: FRA; SIN: HKG (Kai Tak, not the new one); BKK

72. Brace position when you can't reach the seat in front: are you actually able to put your head on your knees whilst seated and with your feet flat on the floor?
Yes, but hope i never have to.

73. "This life jacket is the type with a single waist strap that clips together and tightens as shown...."
Notwithstanding that I'm unsure of how many types there are...how many "types" of aircraft life jackets have you encountered whilst flying as a passenger? (i.e. first hand, not from someone else's account, or from watching a video, etc.)
Do you mean had to put on, or seen demo'd by the crew? If on, none, and again, never want to thanks.
If seen demo'd, gee, that's not something i would ever recall - it would have to be >6 though thinking back to recent trip alone, all were different on QF/AA/MX/LA.

74. Apart from your home airport(s), which (a) international airport and (b) domestic airport have you frequented the most?
(b) MEL/BNE (recently moved home from one to the other so depends how you count!)
(a) Probably LAX not counting Australian ones. Counting AUS, prob MEL followed by SYD.

75. How do you pack your clothes (e.g. do you roll, fold, etc.)?
Fold when leaving home, state varies by end of trip (folded = clean, plastic bag inside bag = dirty).

76. Do you iron your clothes (a) all before your flight (i.e. at home), (b) before and after your flight (i.e. at destination), (c) only after your flight, or (d) not at all?
A (prior to packing) then E - if needed at destination (ie. casual day, not too crunched, just wear; work function = iron)

77. QF AU domestic 737-800 or 737-400: which one do you prefer?
737-800 quieter, seats generally better. They need to get rid of the -400.

78. Describe the last time you flew a commercial flight using an aircraft which was not manufactured by Airbus or Boeing. (Exception: you may consider MD aircraft, i.e. McDonnell-Douglas, even though Boeing owns them now.)
BNE-NTL DHC-8-300 (March 09)

Re: Driving in MEL

Does anyone want to make a comment, give opinion or tips to driving a car in MEL, particularly within the CBD, South Melbourne and to/from Tulla Airport? Particularly over the upcoming ANZAC day weekend (25-26 Apr)?

I'm not phased about the parking, even if I have to pay for it the economy still works out better than a taxi (but of course doesn't match the Skybus; but riding the Skybus doesn't give any airline miles (except for that on the credit card)!)

I was more thinking about whether the traffic is crazy on the weekend or not, and then in particular that weekend. I know that it was crazy the last time I was in MEL (AFF Gather #1) due to an AFL game and some arts festival thing.

Also just really looking for general opinions about driving in Melbourne. I could give my opinion about driving in Perth :p

COuld just let you find out the bad driving habits Melbourne drivers have yourself!

Realistically, the drivers in each city aren't better or worse than any other city - just their bad habits vary a bit!

IMHO Perth driving is much easier than Melbourne driving :p

Avoid the toll roads and take the scenic route. Much healthier and cheaper.

I found that drivers in Victoria are always in a hurry and take unnecessary risks, like pulling out in front you and expecting you to slam on the brakes, compared to other states. Don't care too much for those crazy right turns from the left lane after the lights change to red.

Good to know.

I thought things might be different in the People's Republic of Victoria. (Or is that New Brunswick?)

THE PEOPLES REPUBLIC of VICTORIA (TPRV)

Now that has a nice ring to it - visa needed to enter God's own, armed boarder passes - bring it on!

And I want to be the new TPRV dictator as well - Chiang Kai munitalP, that too has a nice ring to it...

:D
