This is a big thumbs up to the folks @ The Swiss Grand Hotel Bondi Beach who have kindly changed my prepaid/unchangeable/uncancellable reservation for tonight to a later date in June 2009.

I had a reservation for tonight following the Accor 3 Day Sale and had a 1bedroom oceanfront suite for $79 but due to various reasons won't be able to stay there, so asked for a change of date and they kindly agreed. A big thanks to the SGHBB!

Those of you who know what happened on the weekend, thanks for your well wishes and I'm happy to report that I am back online (although not 100%, and there's still much to be done).

Welcome back. :) All the best with fixing things up.

If a public holiday falls on what is already a day off then there should be no replacement :!:
Not quite as it is a little more complex than that. As far as I am aware when Australia Day falls on a weekend a substitute day is proclaimed as a public holiday.

I do not understand the stance with Anzac Day this year as next year Anzac Day is on a Sunday yet Monday is a public holiday. In 2011 Easter Sunday and Anzac Day are the same day so we lose Anzac Day again? It would appear that Anzac Day holiday would be on the Tuesday. What was so special about this year and not having Anzac Day holiday on Friday or Monday?

Christmas, Boxing Day and New Years will always be a public holiday on a Monday or Tuesday if they fall on the weekend as the government does not have the guts to try and change this tradition....

It was a public holiday in ACT and WA yesterday (27 April) in lieu of ANZAC day on Saturday. :p

Boy did the people in other states crack a sad.

No idea Dan, but all the very best for a speedy return to normal!

hope it all gets sorted. Did they send the hot csi folk out for the forensics, or does that just happen on tv?

Dan hope it all gets sorted out soon.

As to you 2 you need to get on facebook and keep up with the latest news. ;)

That requires one to read Facebook every day - with AFF I get an update feed email "as soon as it happens".

But having said all that - hope it all works out D1 and things go back to some sort of normality soon.
