Big night in the CNS QP....QF655 delayed > 5 hours

Lucky my flying mate is driving home (Noosa) when we finally arrive in BNE. Should get home around 2.30am

Any other AFF'ers in the lounge? 3 hours down......4 to go!

Flight crew touring the lounge apologizing for the delay - excellent touch.

Safety issue so no complaints.....the lounge staff just knocked up a special pasta dish (yummy) and have granted a $25 voucher (via BP) to spend in the shops. I've cashed mine in for Chocolates for the family.

The drinks are flowing so not all is lost!

It's a bitter pill, and in a perfect world there would be some justice. Maybe karma will catch up with my ex.

My father, who is 82 and unlikely to see 83, did not teach me a hell of a lot - he wasn't exactly a "great" Dad - but always said that money isn't everything. It took my separation to appreciate that.

So while I utterly despise the "You only live one - so you may as well have fun" ethos - esp. when it's at my expense! - the last 12 months has taught me that my most important achievement is my three children, and the love they have for me (those of you who have read my TR's would have guessed that already!). We have grown so much closer through all of the dramas, and I know that bond will last for life.

Was watching the news this morning and see 'YOLO' (didn't know what it meant till this morning!) has been added to the dictionary. You only live once. Gee! :shock:

The longest wait I have had was actually this year when a 10:20pm EY flight from AUH to MEL departed 5:50am the next morning.

I had arrived around 7pm in an effort to optimise my Diamond Lounge experience; It is a nice enough place but I guess I was over it by around 2am.

Before that it was QF108 departing LAX at 3am back in 2006.

Well, I'd like to think not, given that MH is being delisted.

Besides, the damn airline right now is a sinkhole. If Alan Joyce wasn't murdered in Malaysia for instigating Western style sweeping changes to the workforce, then he should be duly killed for doing an Ansett (or an Air New Zealand, if you will).

1987, BA Sin-SYD, divert to MEL due to fog. Arrived MEL 7am. Departed MEL 5pm. No lounge.

Speaking of Lurpak, near my workplace in Northern Sydney, groups of young things dressed up in logo's were handing out sampler packs of Lurpack to commuters. Is this the beginning of the end?
