Received my spanking new VS Flying Club Red card all the way from merry ol' England courtesy of "priority" Airmail. (It was dated 5 May). Quite a nice card, actually - really nice design. Certainly gives QF NB and DJ Red cards a good run for their money (design wise).

Gee...I belong to six FFPs now, plus three hotel programs (plus one paid premium hotel program)... what an array of cards.... :-|

Which is why I have a nice stack of cards on my desk, rather than cluttering up my wallet ;)

Well, it is intermittently bucketing down in BNE today. A larger umbrella did nothing to stop rain from soaking my lower legs, socks and shoes. :(

On the plus side, my shoes got a free clean and dull shine. :p

Hasn't rained in Perth for 25 days.,

Some places (eg Kalbarri) hasn't rained since *December*.

In the 24 hours before 9am today, the combines SEQ dams average levels rose 3.4%! That is an amazing jump in 24 hours. That represents a net increase of 36,371 MegaLitres in a day. Certainly the biggest single-day rise I have seen since I started monitoring the levels in November 2005.

I believe I heard through some hearsay that there is a burst main or the like on the west side of BNE. The loss of water AFAICT was not quite in equal volume to that gained by rainfall, but a loss nonetheless, especially for those vying for that magic 60%.

The burst main was yesterday. Reported to be some 120ML lost "down the drain". A 'drop in the ocean" compared with the 36,000ML gained yesterday.

I thought I heard tonight that the dams are now at 66% overall (and still rising) so our drought has been cancelled

Anna Bligh was on B105 this morning at 0755 - apparently Dams are now over 70% - that a 10% rise in less than a week!
