Have we done the toileting habits to death yet?? Oh good, back to normal then ;) :D

Nope. :p

I hate seeing lids down in public toilets. I don't want to touch them with my hands. So I use my feet (with shoes). If anything is going to contaminate hands its opening lids on public loos.

Jeez I'm so over banks - paid 50K into Altitude Black on Fri - funds available Sat - paid another 50K into Altitude Black Sat morn - funds still not available - banks make Ned Kelly look like saint!
The Friday payment was processed Friday night. The Saturday payment will be processed tonight. They don't process on the weekend even when the funds leave your account.
Not as bad as the ANZ bank.

I deposited some cash into an 'Access' account at an open Branch on Saturday morning; went home and using internet banking transferred the now available funds to my daughter's account. I thought nothing more of it that weekend.

Later the following week, the online statement showed the transfer as being made on the Saturday but the deposit as being made on Monday, along with a 7¢ interest charge for the account being overdrawn for two days!

Small crumbs I know - but I did complain and had the 7¢ refunded (ex gratia!) - principle and all that!

Have not read about the NBN problem being mentioned.
When they go past your home you need them to hook in a new phone or you lose your current phone number.
Then the emergency panic button ceases to work but no one mentions this.
Our olds have just had this done in East Victoria Park in Perth metro.
Old folks lose their security systems.
Bit of a scandal really for the seniors in our community.

Thats not the case, copper remains active for at least 18 months after the last work is done, numerous notices are mailed out advising cutoff during that time.

After a rather insane weekend bender, I got some good feedback at work today... Unfortunately they aren't paying me any more :(

Glass half full - fortunately they aren't paying you any less....(assumption made)

Maybe we should wait until they die before doing anything? Seriously, as markis10 has noted there is a long time between NBN being installed and the copper being cut off. Sometimes people have to take responsibility for their own inaction.

I remember these sorts of comments came up during the switch over to digital television and they were all unfounded because of the huge effort put into ensuring that vulnerable members of the community were made aware and offered assistance to be able obtain digital television.

Despite the huge effort made to inform and assist these people some ignored letters and other targetted information and whinged why they didn't have television. The same will happen here and you have to wonder when they will be told 'bad luck so sad'. You ignored us and now there are consequences.

After all you're an adult, act like it.

Not sure why people find food labelling confusing

My mum is legally blind and receiving a letter advising her of digital TV issues would send her into a panic. Maybe people need to realise that as people age that the things that are simple to us "adults" are completely confusing to the elderly. If you are lucky you will live to see that for yourself.

Watching Flying Miners on ABC. One for some around here. Old qantas uniform dates it. Which one of you is the guy flying 4000km and 3 flights for every 2 week shift.

Laziness. Plus, they aren't going to separate out the pallets / batches by country of origin.

Country of origin is a fairly big thing here in Switzerland. Even region of origin can be quite important (e.g. many products here are proudly labelled if they have been sourced from the local area). A growing trend is also responsible / bio / organic products.

In restaurants, menus are often annotated with the origins of products, e.g. meat. Incidentally, most of the lamb I've seen in restaurants and shops comes from New Zealand.

I want the NBN and I want it now.

Well with the current political regime you are either not going to get it right now, and/or get it slower and/or not at all if worse luck befalls you.

So in the attitude of the sitting government, we have a budget emergency at the moment so you can just sod off.

Not me but I know a number of guys in SE QLD who travel to Barrow Is, Port Hedland or Newman. Not for me but apparently the money is good.
