Bardwell Park. People had to be rescued from a train in the area due to floodwater. There was another rescue of a train load of people near Hurstville also.

Lucky accident erkpod. Glad to hear you survived okay :D

Me too.

This isn't the actual train but imagine the whole (camera) right hand side covered in tree. It was like going through a car wash albeit at speed.

Whats with the two robots at Wynyard?

So is Sydney officially flooded or is it merely a bunch of inundations?

Who is going to work today?

Sick of unprofessional [insert character assessment of choice]. All happy to verbally say removing something makes no difference, but ask for that in writing and suddenly it becomes my responsibility to check. Why do you think I'm asking you to tell me the affect of your changes on your equipment?!!

Umm, there is 12637 square km of Sydney. No flooding near my work. It seems only unimportant things, like golf courses, are flooded.

Well when Brisbane was "flooded" there was a good deal underwater (Brisbane river influence, inner west etc.), but suffice to say the entire city wasn't. We in the northern suburbs were (mostly) notably high and dry.

Yep, and mum was completely untouched. Well besides have her sister lob in for the week from west end. But this is a bit different to Brisbane.

You see them everywhere in London at the moment due to the huge amount of rail construction underway. They are electronic devices which send beams to pre-set sensors and look for the response. Basically they are checking for any ground movement caused by the construction.

I thought that might be the case, thanks.

They are surveyors theodolites. There to measure any movement in the tunnel. As Erk said, might be due to construction of Wynyard Walk. Although I think they may also be a permanent feature anyway.

Erkpod, I am going to stop wishing you that I hope things get better, as they obviously didn't. Sorry about that.

Well of course they won't get better if you batter him, but he may taste better ;))

Finals night in our latest season of Indoor Beach Volleyball. My team finished first in our Division (3) and we just won our first game. The downside is that we now have to cool our heels for an hour until next match (SF).

Interesting to note that the report from last night didn't actually mention me hitting the tree. It does now.

Went past the site today & all the trees look ok.

Went past the site where the line flooded at Bardwell Park. There's a 20kph speed restriction on one citybound track where it flooded but not the other one which also flooded.
